Tourists? We Don't Got No Stinkin' Tourists ...
Brought to us by Tink of Pickled Beef. This week’s words are Circle and Town Tourist
So here are some things that are round like circles …
As you can see my car is ice covered. If I tried to go somewhere I would probably spin around in circles…
Will the Circle Be Unbroken …
Town Tourist…
The idea was for us to be tourists in our own towns. The problem with this is that this isn’t exactly a tourist town. There really isn’t much going on here. And, I’ve posted so many pics of town and done so many driving around town videos already. So, I wasn’t sure what I would do.
Then, I suddenly realized that there once was a big tourist attraction here. It was called Dogpatch USA and it was a craft and theme park just south of town.
There was a building that had a skating rink in it …
Here is what used to be the main entrance …
And here is what used to be the tram that took people down the hill to the theme park.
Needless to say it’s all gone now.
But, we still do get some tourists who like to visit the Buffalo National River and go floating.
As you can see the river is very low, but the cliffs are beautiful …
And there are some great hiking trails around the river.
And you can have fun with the local wildlife too …
Okay, he looks a little bored. But, there’s always this little fella …
