I Got Yer Teabag Right Here Dumbass ....

Okay, I have to admit that I really haven’t been paying much attention to all these Tea Parties that are supposedly going on all day on tax day. So, to find out about them I decided to talk to a friend who seemed to be pretty up on all this…

Me: So what is this Tea Party thing?
Friend: Just what it sounds like. People gathering on tax day to protest. Just like the Boston Tea Party.
Me: You mean taxation without representation? That's silly. You have representation. We have a congressman from our district and two senators just like the constitution calls for.
Friend: No, not like that, but the HUGE increase in taxes.
Me: What increase?
Friend: The damn increase from 36 to 39%!!!

Me: But, you only make in the mid 30's. You don't pay the top rate!
Friend: I know, but it's the principal of the whole thing. That increase is Socialism!
Me: Okay, if you say so. But, is that it? Just that one increase?
Friend: No, it's other stuff too. Just a general "We're mad at the government" type rally.
Me: Okay, cool. Mad about what exactly?
Friend: Just how out of control the government is. How it's size has just exploded and how it is intruding on our lives more than ever before and it's become super oppressive and our rights are being trampled on.

Me: You mean to tell me that after EIGHT FUCKING YEARS of the federal government growing at unprecedented rates, after eight years of the federal government listening in on the phone conversations of regular citizens, reading citizens emails, installing surveillance cameras on every street corner to watch our every move and the feds snooping through lists of what books we've been checking out from the library, you guys have FINALLY decided, now that a Democrat is in the White House, that the gov't is "too big" and "too opressive" and "intruding in our daily lives too much?"

Seriously? After eight years of you guys saying things like "Well, I'm willing to give up some of my rights to be safe." And things like "Well, if you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about." And shit like that, you are now telling me that it's important to stop our government from becoming too big and too powerful and getting too much control over it's citizens????

Friend: Well ... uh ... heh ... yeah.

Me: Well welcome to the fucking club buddy. Glad you guys could finally fucking join.

Friend: Thanks!

Me: Is there a local meet up we can go to here?
Friend: Don't think so. Most all of the Tea Parties are being financed by lobbyists and the republican party and they want them in the bigger towns where they can draw the bigger crowds. Makes sense.

Me: *face palm*

I can’t fucking believe people are falling for this shit. These Tea Parties are 100% partisan and have nothing to do with the government intruding on the private lives of regular people. Wake up and smell the coffee burning people!

Look, as a registered independent, and a very much Libertarian leaning person, I totally agree with the anger over the oppressive size of the federal government and that we need to somehow stop the government from continuing to intrude on our daily lives, but give me a fucking break. These “Tea Parties” aren’t about that. They’re about Wall Street types and the top elite like lobbyists enlisting regular people to fight their fights for them and pretend to be all populist and shit. How stupid can people be to keep falling for shit like this over and over and over?

The only way any of the things that these “Tea Parties” could ever achieve what they claim they want accomplish is if people chuck their ideology aside and stop thinking that one of the political parties actually fucking cares about them.

They. Don’t. Fucking. Care. About. You.

Period!

Oh BTW, go over and wish my very good and HAWT friend M a Happy Birthday.
