HOMEOWNERS FORCLOSE ON BANK, YES THAT IS CORRECT

 A couple of homeowners in Naples, Florida reportedly foreclosed on a Bank of America branch last week, their attorney actually having moving trucks pull up in front of a Naples branch to execute a foreclosure judgment against the bank.
In 2009, retired police officer Warren Nyerges and his wife, Maureen Collier, paid $165,000 cash for their 2,700 square foot home in the Golden Gate Estates subdivision, and never took a mortgage out on it. So imagine their surprise when, in Februrary of 2010, Bank of America initiated foreclosure proceedings against them. The Nyerges hired an attorney, Todd Allen, to defend them against the wrongful foreclosure, and the Bank eventually abandoned the matter.

But not before the Nyerges incurred $2,534 in attorney's fees, which they requested informally from Bank of America multiple times before resorting to the courts, which ordered the bank to make the couple whole. When B of A still had not paid the judgment after five months of phone calls and letter writing by Allen and the Nyerges to the bank insisting that the court order be obeyed, Allen took the next step in the legal collection process, obtaining an order of foreclosure against the bank.
Allen then reported to a local branch of the bank with sheriff's deputies, who he instructed to remove cash from the tellers' drawers, furniture, computers and other property. Approximately one hour later, the Naples News reports, the bank manager produced a check for $5,772.88 to satisfy Allen's fees and additional costs. I wish I could have been there to get all the stuff if it was put on the curve, you know how we do.

Westwood High track coach Tom Davis was fired last week because one of his runners decided to whip off a shirt during training on a 75-degree day. This wasn't a girl, by the way. It was a boy.

And the Westwood High athletic director, Karl Fogel, was so irate about it that Davis thought he was going to lay him out.
"I fully 100 percent was expecting to be swung at," the coach told NECN TV
The team was doing quite well this year under the second-year coach: one of the relay teams went to nationals less than two months ago and the outdoor team started off 5-0 this spring. But there was an undercurrent of tension at the school as Fogel told Davis that some members of the girls team felt uncomfortable when the boys ran without shirts. Davis even warned his team about possible punishment for not wearing a shirt. I'm sorry but of these girls felt uncomforable with someone a boy not wearing a shirt they need to get a grip and grow some balls.

Atlanta-based music producer Jermaine Dupri is known for racking up hit after and hit.

But he's also racked up a lot of debt in recent years.
Channel 2 Action News has learned that Dupri's mansion on Mount Paran Road in northwest Atlanta was in foreclosure and set to be auctioned on the courthouse steps last week, but the sale was canceled at the last minute.
The law firm handling the foreclosure would not say why the sale was stopped.
Suntrust Bank had started foreclosure on an original loan amount of more than $2.5 million.
According to records Channel 2 obtained from the Georgia Department of Revenue, Jermaine Dupri Mauldin owes the state $493,768.75 in back taxes for 2007.
Channel 2's Tom Regan also spoke with a contractor who has a filed a lien against Dupri's property.
Shane Cox of Design Logistics said Dupri still owes him $12,000 for managing the star's mansion. His services included renovation and design.
"We would bring everything in, assemble, set up. Hang all the art. The art hanging in the house. Things along those lines. I feel he's a pretty nice guy. I hope he will come forward and take care of the debt we have," Cox told Regan.
Regan also spoke with Fayette County Tax Commissioner George Wingo. Wingo sent Regan documents showing Dupri owes $14,024.67 in unpaid property taxes, fees and penalties in connection with another home Dupri owns.
Regan went to Dupri's home and rang the intercom at the security gate in hopes of getting a comment from the music producer, but got no answer.
See instead of balling out of control all these rappers need to be paying the bills. Now I know why he has benn djing to make some of that money back.

Your debit card may soon be denied for purchases greater than $100 -- or even as little as $50.


JPMorgan Chase, one of the nation's largest banks, is considering capping debit card transactions at either $50 or $100, according to a source with knowledge of the proposal. And the cap would apply even if you run your debit card as credit.
Why? Because of a tricky thing called interchange fees.


Right now, every time you swipe your debit card your bank charges the retailer an average fee of 44 cents, which it shares with its partners. Those little fees, however, add up to about $16 billion per year, according to 2009 data from the Federal Reserve.
But as part of the Wall Street reform legislation that was passed last year, these fees are being slashed. The Fed is currently proposing rules that would go into effect in July and would cap interchange fees at 12 cents.
That's a big enough cut to cost Chase (JPM, Fortune 500) more than $1 billion a year. And Chase may not be alone. Other major issuers are also projecting huge losses from the interchange fee cap.
Joe Price, president of consumer banking for Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500), said in an e-mailed statement that the lower fee wouldn't fairly compensate the bank for the infrastructure and services it provides to retailers.
And consumers would end up feeling the pain when Bank of America is forced to recoup costs "by increasing the cost of their everyday debit card transactions, limiting their payment choices, and impacting industry innovation," according to the email.

SOMEONE IS ALREADY PAYING $5.50 FOR GAS

The average cost of gas has jumped to $3.52 per gallon, up from $3.38 per gallon last week and 77 cents higher than a year ago.

It is the highest price ever posted during the month of March. And it could cost even more, depending on location.
At Suncoast Energys' gas station in Orlando, Fla., gas prices have surpassed the $5 mark: $5.39 a gallon for regular and $5.49 for premium.
Suncoast is among the last gas stations for travelers heading to the Orlando airport, making it a prime spot for customers in a pinch.
I would just have to push my car cause I'm not pay ing $5.00 a gallon

TWO WORDS COULD MAKE YOU LOSE $1.4 MILLION: ACTUAL INNOCENCE

A courtroom technicality has cost a wrongly convicted Texas man the compensation that would otherwise be due him for the 18 years he'd served in Texas prison--14 of which he spent on Death Row.

Anthony Graves would have received $1.4 million in compensation if only the words "actual innocence" had been included in the judge's order that secured Graves's release from prison. The Comptroller's office decided the omission means Graves gets zero dollars, writes Harvey Rice at the Houston Chronicle, even though the prosecutor, judge, and defense all agreed at trial he is innocent
So how did this happen? Cory Session, a Texas Innocence Project policy director and one of the architects of the 2009 Tim Cole compensation law for exonerated prisoners, tells The Lookout that the Brenham prosecutor's office decided to dismiss the murder charges they originally filed against Graves, instead of retrying him all over again and finding him innocent. The compensation law provides $80,000 per year in prison only to claimants explicitly found innocent in a retrial or who are granted a pardon. Neither status now applies to Graves.

Session says he has no idea why the Brenham prosectors neglected to explicitly say in the court order that Graves was innocent. By simply dropping the charges, prosecutors could always retry Graves for the same crime if new evidence surfaced. Double Jeapordy rules would not apply, because the original charges against him have effectively disappeared.
Graves's lawyers are now pointing fingers at Burleson County District Attorney William Parham, who "declined to sign an order asking District Judge Reva Towslee Corbett to amend Graves' order of release to include the words 'actual innocence,'" according to the Brenham Banner Press. Parham said last month he also believes Graves is innocent, but that "actual innocence" carries no strict legal meaning; he also said he made no recommendations on the compensation case. Parham's office informed The Lookout he was not available for comment on the Graves case.
Session says Graves could now sue under federal civil rights law on the grounds that he suffered cruel and unusual punishment. Judge Corbett could also rescind the original order and add the words "actual innocence." If Graves sues the state of Texas in civil court, tort laws there limit any compensation to $200,000.
what a bum deal this guy has gotten. Not only did he lose 18 years of his life behind bars but to lose a million only to possibly sue for $200,000 maybe. I would commit a crime for real.

KANYE'S NEW WATCH

Tiret has a nice little thing going for itself when it comes to high-status celebs who want some of them, on their wrist. I previously wrote about a watch that Tiret made for Usher here. The same concept (but done differently) was applied to a watch for musician Kanye West. You have the same oblong "Second Chance" watch case design, in 18k yellow gold. Coming with a gold bracelet or reptile strap, Kanye seems to be enjoying his (as he seems to wear it a lot). 

The watch dial features two Swiss quartz chronograph movements. So you have two times, two chronographs, etc... The real allure is in all the jewel work. Tiret claims it took them over five months to create the dial. The dial itself is in gold toned mother-of-pearl, with a combo of white, yellow, brown, and black diamonds. The bezel is lined with very large diamonds as well. The watch is said to have a total of about 8 carats of stones. Kayne's face has been immortalized on the dial - complete with sunglasses. Retail price for this is said to be about $180,000, and is custom made specially for each client. 
I like Kanye and I like watches but not this.

CHECK THAT $100 BILL IT COULD BE $5

Alpharetta police and the Secret Service are trying to figure out how long three suspects they arrested were spending counterfeit $100 bills at Atlanta area malls.

Police arrested the suspects in the parking lot of North Point Mall on December 31st. They were called by loss prevention officers at Macy's. When police searched a car the suspects were in they found several items that were purchased with fake money. Police said most of the items were clothing.
"They would go to the store, pass the counterfeit money off, buy a small item and then return later in the day to get cash back based upon a receipt," said Alpharetta police officer George Gordon.
Officer Gordon said the suspects took legitimate five dollar bills and dipped them in chemicals to wash off the dye. "And then they would imprint it with a one hundred dollar bill imprint," he said.
This is one aspect of crime not to mess with. You get a lot of jail time for counterfeit money and the amout is not even worth the effort, unless you are buying drugs with the money.

Time magazine has chosen Mark Zuckerberg, the 26-year-old founder of Facebook, as its Person of the Year, a title given to an individual who has "for better or for worse...done the most to influence the events of the year."

WESLEY SNIPES HEADED TO JAIL

Snipes, best known for his roles in the "Blade" trilogy, surrendered shortly before noon today at a federal prison in Pennsylvania where he will serve a three-year sentence for failing to file his taxes.

Snipes, 48, was convicted in April 2008 of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income taxes and has spent the last two years unsuccessfully trying to appeal the ruling.

But the wait is over for Snipes, who was required to hand over his street clothes for a prison uniform as he settles into his new home at the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Lewis Run, Pa.

Don't worry Wesley in three years you will be debt free and can do more Blade movies.

CAN GOVERNMENT DO ANYTHING RIGHT?

As a metaphor for our troubled economic and financial era -- and the government's stumbling response -- this one's hard to beat. You can't stimulate the economy via the money supply, after all, if you can't print the money correctly.

Because of a problem with the presses, the federal government has shut down production of its flashy new $100 bills, and has quarantined more than 1 billion of them -- more than 10 percent of all existing U.S. cash -- in a vault in Fort Worth, Texas, reports CNBC.
Officials with the Treasury and the Federal Reserve had touted the new bills' sophisticated security features that were 10 years in the making, including a 3-D security strip and a color-shifting image of a bell, designed to foil counterfeiters. But it turns out the bills are so high-tech that the presses can't handle the printing job.

More than 1 billion unusable bills have been printed. Some of the bills creased during production, creating a blank space on the paper, one official told CNBC. Because correctly printed bills are mixed in with the flawed ones, even the ones printed to the correct design specs can't be used until they 're sorted. It would take an estimated 20 to 30 years to weed out the defective bills by hand, but a mechanized system is expected to get the job done in about a year
The flawed bills, which cost around $120 million to print, will have to be burned.

Grammy-Award winning singer Kelly Rowland, sidekick to Beyonce in the group Destiny's Child, owes the IRS more than $98,000 in delinquent federal taxes, according to public records.
Rowland, 29, rose to fame in the girl group, which broke through with the 1999 hit tune "Bills, Bills, Bills." After the group broke up, she released a few solo albums and maintains an acting career that included portraying Motown legend (and ex-Detroit Councilwoman/tax delinquent) Martha Reeves in a 2003 episode of the TV show "American Dreams."
What's owed:
•The IRS filed a $98,634 lien against Rowland on Nov. 8 with the New York City Register.
How many times do I have to tell you. If you are famous pay your damn taxes or be like Wesley Snipes
