THE SHEEN HAS BEEN FIRED

Warner Bros. studio sent the "Two and a Half Men" actor a letter of termination. I guess no matter how rich you are you can still be fired. Oh well I wonder if he thinks he is still winning. All that money he still has, yes.

TWO AND A HALF MEN SHUT DOWN

CBS and Warner Bros. have had enough.
The companies are pulling the plug on the highly rated Two and a Half Men after Charlie Sheen’s shocking Thursday interviews.
“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season,” the companies said in a statement.
Earlier today in separate radio and TMZ interviews, Charlie Sheen verbally attacked Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre, calling him a “clown,” a “stupid, stupid little man” and said he “violently hates” the producer. Sheen also seemingly made an antisemitic remark when he twice referred to Lorre with a name that sounds like “Haim Levine” (Lorre was born Charles Michael Levine). CBS had no comment on what will fill the Men timeslot
ok now how will Charlie afford all of the porn stars.

Just Go With It beat Beiber fever to winn the number spot this weekend earning $31 million at the box office. But Beiber did make it to number two with $30 million. Not bad for someone who will probably be as irevelant as boy bands in the next few years.  But here are the weekenfd totals.

Who the hellis Arcade Fire? Whoever Arcade Fire is they pulled in enough votes to topple megastars like Eminem, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry for Album of the Year. But they did it, right after a very strobe-light-heavy performance of "Month of May" featuring BMX bikers, and before a performance of "Ready to Start" featuring the biggest grin we'd ever seen cross frontman Win Butler's face.

Cee Lo. Gwyneth. Puppets.
One of the night's most mind-blowing moments came from Cee Lo Green -- dressed as a colorfully strange hybrid of Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and a giant peacock -- who performed "(The Song Otherwise Known as 'Forget You')" as the Grammys kept referring to it. He got a little second-verse help from Gwyneth Paltrow, who didn't sound out of place in the least on Music's Biggest Night. One complaint: The fake Muppets. We would've loved to have seen Animal on drums.

Mick Jagger Teaches a Master Class in Rock Stardom
The performance of the night was reserved for Mick Jagger, making his live Grammy debut. Even at the ripe old age of 67, Jagger proved he's still exponentially more the showman that anyone else at the Grammys by absolutely wowing with a lethal rendition of "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" during his tribute to Solomon Burke. We hope Gaga, Rihanna, and everyone else at the Staples Center was taking notes and watching his hips. That is how you do it. Please, Stones, tour soon.

Intergalactic Soul God Janelle Monáe Lands on Earth
Monáe, Bruno Mars and B.o.B. performed on each others songs, but Janelle closed their mini set with a star-making take on "Cold War." She rose from beneath the stage, tossed aside her cape, and made the magic happen -- belting, stage diving, and dancing her way to a standing ovation, ultimately demonstrating that all a great Grammy performance really needs is pure, raw talent and a singer willing to leave it all on the stage.

Lady Gaga Gives Totally Unshocking Performance
Maybe Lady Gaga has reached the point where the most shocking thing she can do it not shock us. Because her super-hyped performance of "Born This Way" was lacking any of the usual Gaga stage tricks -- pyro, giant sets, blood, fire, body parts, special guests. She crawled out of the giant opaque egg womb she'd been "incubating" in on the red carpet, then just sang and danced like all the other mere mortals in the Staples Center. By the end of the night, her performance wasn't one of the most memorable -- which will have everyone talking for the wrong reasons tomorrow.

All Hail the Queen, Aretha Franklin
Christina Aguilera managed to make it through her part of the Grammys' tribute to Aretha Franklin unscathed -- save for a literal stumble at the very end of the performance. She did an impressive job belting out a few of the Queen of Soul's signature songs alongside Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Yolanda Adams, and Florence Welch, but the highlight of this segment was a taped message from Franklin herself, looking fit, sharp, and on the mend.

Justin Bieber and Usher Reenact Their Bromance
Bieber's performance with Usher began with the following exchange, tracing the beginnings of the pair's very fruitful partnership. We weren't sure whether to react with an "aww" or a call to child protective services:
Usher: "I saw you in a parking lot, and you did not sing for me the first time. But I did tell you something, and what was that?"
Bieber: "You told me, if it was meant to be, we'd meet again."
Usher: "That's right, and now's your time."

Esperanza Spalding (Who?) Wins Best New Artist
In a night full of stunners, jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding had one of the biggest surprise victories, beating out Drake, Mumford & Sons, and the heavy favorite Justin Bieber to take home the Best New Artist award. Spalding's victory was a huge surprise to everyone watching the show and to a big blow to Bieber Nation, who quickly ran over to her Wikipedia page to do some mean-spirited damage. Despite being a major underdog, Spalding is the kind of talent Grammy voters flock to, and we're kicking ourselves we didn't bet a small portion of our paycheck on her victory -- with her pre-Grammy odds, we'd be booking a tropical vacation right now.

Nicole Kidman's Enthusiasm Upstages Katy Perry
The talk of Twitter during Katy Perry's two-song performance wasn't Katy's sparkly outfit or her swing routine or even the gauzy footage of her and Russell Brand's wedding that played on a screen behind the stage -- it was the two seconds the cameras caught the usually stiff Nicole Kidman absolutely rocking out and singing along with "Teenage Dream." Get Kidman a role on "Glee," ASAP.

The Bard Schools The Bieb
Dylan's voice was at its most gravely as he and two of folk rock's biggest up-and-coming bands, Mumford & Sons and the Avett Brothers, shared the stage for a rollicking performance of Dylan's "Maggie's Farm." Sure, Dylan sounded like he was gargling Bourbon, nicotine, and turpentine backstage, but it's always a treat to see music's greatest poet educate an audience of Bieber fans about rock's acoustic past.

Seth Rogen Gets High With Miley Cyrus (In His Mind)
"This is my first time at the Grammys, I'm having a spectacular time so far," the actor said before introducing Eminem's performance. "I've seen things I've never seen before, I've heard things I've never heard before. And that wasn't even watching the show, that was just backstage getting high with Miley Cyrus."

Eminem Sneaks Dr. Dre Out of the Lab
Technically, Dr. Dre shouldn't be permitted to leave his studio until we have confirmation "Detox" is really, really finished. But after a shouty version of "Love the Way You Lie (Part 2)" with Rihanna and Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Eminem coaxed his mentor on the Grammy stage. Wearing practically matching outfits of leather jackets and dark jeans (how cute!), the pair went head to head on "I Need a Doctor." Would it have killed them to throw in "Forgot About Dre"?

Rihanna and Drake Turn Up the Heat
There was a bonfire burning at the center of the stage, but that wasn't what had Drake rhyming, "It's getting hot/Crack a window, air it out" when the pair performed "What's My Name." If folks were gossiping about the pair's relationship in the past, this Grammy team-up is going to have tongues wagging for a long, long time.

IF YOU GIVE A COMEDIAN THE MIC EXPECT A CRAZY COMMENT

That's what happened when Tracy Morgan grabbed the mic during a TNT pregame show. On TNT’s “Inside The NBA”  Tracy is asked by Kenny Smith if Sarah Palin is good looking, to which Tracy responded “she’s great masturbation material”

NBC GETS NEW CRAPPY LOGO

Yes this will be the new logo that replaces the famous peacock logo from NBC.  NBC Universal is now NBCUniversal -- without the space, the peacock or the globe silhouette.

That was part of the message delivered to the company's 25,000 employees at a town hall gathering on Thursday that featured top executives from prospective new owner Comcast Corp.
The bird will remain part of the brand of NBC, the broadcaster, while the spinning globe will still be part of the graphic for Universal, the movie studio and theme park operator. And officially, the company's name is still NBC Universal. But the space-less corporate logo is meant to represent the unity of its two main divisions as it is set to be taken over by cable operator Comcast in a deal that is to close on Friday.
I would just like to say how cheap is that logo.

LEBRON GETS A CARTOON

In his latest venture, Mr. James won’t be fighting crime Batman-style (even if he could probably afford it), but he still hopes to bring inspiration to his young fans. He is taking his talents to the Internet in a new Web-based animated series that will revisit some of his best-known off-the-court performances while featuring socially conscious messages.
The cartoon series, called “The LeBrons” and planned for a spring debut on its own YouTube channel and Mr. James’s Web site, lebronjames.com, will revive the characters from a popular series of Nike commercials in which Mr. Jamesplayed four versions of himself: the youthful and wide-eyed Kid LeBron; the physically adept Athlete LeBron; the smooth and savvy Business LeBron; and an ornery elder statesman called Wise LeBron.
“I’m mostly a kid at heart,” Mr. James said of these manifestations, “and I’m the athlete, of course, that everyone sees. But I also have a business side, a cool side, and I love antique stuff and classical music. I guess that’s the old man side of me.”
“The LeBrons,” whose first season will consist of 10 episodes of five to six minutes each, will center on the world of 16-year-old Kid LeBron and his life in Akron, Ohio, using authentic locations from that city, where Mr. James was born and raised.
Could be worth checking out for the kids

YOU MIGHT SEE YOUR FRIENDS ON THE FIRST 48

DeKalb County police are divided over a plan to give TV crews access to murder investigations.

Some officers believe the national exposure from the documentary television series “The First 48” will help
with recruiting, but others are concerned it could actually help criminals instead.
Channel 2 Action News reporter Erica Byfield spoke with people on both sides of the controversy and learned that production crews began shooting just last week.
Byfield also got her hands on the signed contract between DeKalb County and the producers of the television program.
The show airs on a cable channel and tracks detectives across the country as they work to solve homicides.
DeKalb County spokeswoman Mekka Parrish said officials view it as a positive move for the department.
“These detectives work 24 hours a day and this is an opportunity to showcase their hard work, not only for them, but to give the public a better understanding of what goes on when these crimes are committed,” Parrish said.
Not everyone sees it that way.
“You don’t really want to show what all it takes to get it done and maybe the bad guys watch TV too,” said Brian Fisher.
So for all you thugs planning on doing crime in Dekalb county go ahead so we can see you on the big screen.

HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS TV SHOW SKINS ON MTV

Skins," MTV's controversial new show about a group of very misbehaved teenagers has aired just one episode, and already it is facing severe criticism, advertising snafus and even possible legal action.

After a damning story about the show ran on the front page of Thursday's New York Times, Taco Bell announced that it would be pulling all of its ads from future airings of "Skins." A spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter the show is "not a fit for our brand," and that they would be moving their ads elsewhere on MTV.
"Skins" (based on the racy BBC series of the same name) is raising red flags within the company due to its potentially objectionable content. According to a story on the front page of today's New York Times, executives at the network have expressed concerns that content in forthcoming episodes could expose the company to charges of child pornography.
Brian Stelter reports that, according to an unnamed source at MTV, executives have ordered cuts to the episode slated to air January 31, which apparently revolves around teenaged Chris gravely (and comedically) inconvenienced by the effects of an erectile-dysfunction drug; the actor playing Chris, Jesse Carere, is 17.
Yet another MTV show I will not watch.

I LOVE HOT WOMEN AND HOT PERFORMANCES

Was Christina's and Rihanna's performances too risky for tv? ITV faces a huge backlash after thousands of viewers protested about lewd performances on the X Factor final.

Critics called on media regulator Ofcom to launch an inquiry into why ‘disgusting’ routines were shown before the watershed.
The performances by American singer Christina Aguilera and Bajan star Rihanna could have broken Ofcom’s broadcasting code which seeks to protect children from sexualised content.
Horrified parents – who watched the show with their sons and daughters – also accused ITV of breaking the bond of trust with viewers by failing to tone down the performances for younger fans.
By last night ITV had received about 1,500 complaints about the routines with Ofcom understood to have received a further 2,750-plus.
The media regulator is assessing the points made before deciding whether to launch a full-scale investigation into whether the raunchy material was ‘editorially justified’. Anytime performers are half naked it's alright with me.

Invoking the spirit of "Star Trek" in a scholarly article entitled "To Boldly Go," two scientists contend human travel to Mars could happen much more quickly and cheaply if the missions are made one-way. They argue that it would be little different from early settlers to North America, who left Europe with little expectation of return.

"The main point is to get Mars exploration moving," said Dirk Schulze-Makuch of Washington State University, who wrote the article in the latest "Journal of Cosmology" with Paul Davies of Arizona State University. The colleagues state — in one of 55 articles in the issue devoted to exploring Mars — that humans must begin colonizing another planet as a hedge against a catastrophe on Earth.
Mars is a six-month flight away, possesses surface gravity, an atmosphere, abundant water, carbon dioxide and essential minerals. They propose the missions start by sending two two-person teams, in separate ships, to Mars. More colonists and regular supply ships would follow.
Hey you could definately get away from paying that child support. Go get my baby daddy he's on Mars.

Bill Clinton was on the The Hangover 2" set and he just shot a cameo. Bill was spotted on the set in Thailand yesterday (left) where we're told extra security was added for his presence.

Our spies say they saw Bill walk on the set and were told by crew members he was filming a cameo. None of the people we spoke to, however, saw Bill actually step in front of the camera.
Although some people associated with the flick have told us Bill just "hung out," we've now confirmed he did indeed shoot a cameo.
In the photo on the right, you can see Zach Galifianakis and Bradley Cooper riding in a rickshaw -- Zach is sporting a shaved head like in the pictures we posted earlier this week.
Looks like it might be cool.

WEDNESDAY WHEELS: THE ROSSI SIXTYSIX

Jay Leno spends some quality time with the Rossi SixtySix, as well as its Director of Design, David R. The car's design inspiration is the C2 Corvette, but the underpinnings are all modern since it's a C6 underneath the skin. And despite its model name being the SixtySix, there's a split window in the back, which came from the 1963 Corvette. The point isn't to mimic a specific model year, however, but rather to create a unique version of a car that many people love. We think the end result does a better job than the C5-based convertible .
Pretty danm cool car. The video after the jump
