NEW ALPHA ROMEO

New Alfa Romeo. But it's also the world's fastest street legal Alfa Romeo. The Novitec Alfa Romeo 8C Spider ($TBA) is based on the tech behind the Maserati GT, with a supercharged 4.7L V8 pumping out 600 horses, good for a 0-62 time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. Other features include an optional stainless steel sport exhaust, custom headlights, and three-piece NA3 wheels.
Yeah it's pretty cool.

WEDNESDAY WHEELS: MCLAREN MP4-12C

It's not often a new car from a small(ish) manufacturer can run with the Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis of the world, but that's certainly the case with the McLaren MP4-12C($230,000). This spiritual successor to the legendary F1 uses a 592-horsepower 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 and a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox to go from 0-60 in as little as 3.2 seconds, from 0-125 in 8.9 seconds, a Proactive chassis control system that allows for instant adjustment of the car's settings to match the situation, brake-steer technology borrowed from Formula 1, and other goodies that make it as beastly on the track as it is attention-grabbing off of it.
I will be pulling up in this tomorrow.

VIRGIN HAS A PRETTY GOOD CREW

Virgin Atlantic's cabin crew have been voted the world's most attractive in a survey of British business travelers.

The Virgin Atlantic crew, who traditionally dress in red, beat competition from Singapore Airlines and Etihad in the survey of 1000 business travelers, traditionally the most frequent flyers.
Virgin's stunning 53 percent of votes is credited to the airline's sexually charged global advertising campaign, which featured Bond-style graphics and plenty of suggestive images, including a tongue-in-cheek use of the controversial "body scanners" now in use at airports.
The "Singapore Girls" on board Singapore Airlines flights took 18 percent of the votes and only second place, despite repeatedly being named the best cabin crew in the world and even earning a place in Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in the 1990s.
Time for me to fly Virgin.

SOFIA VERGARA WITH AND WITHOUT MAKEUP

This is why some women need make up. That's why if you don't look good natural I don't want to date you. That's why I say the best place to meet women is the grocery store. They have their guard down, they are not made up and you see if they can cook by the food they buy.

CHECK OUT THE INVISIBLE MAN

The guy in the grocery store is Liu Bolin -- an artist who's made it his "thing" to paint himself like a human chameleon and hide in plain site in photos. I wonder how long it takes to paint himself. The rest of the photos after them jump.

NEW SUPERCAR: PAGANI HUAYRA

The brand new supercar from Italy looks pretty sexy except for the front fascia, we’ll probably get used to it. The car looks super low and has the cool gullwing doors that are normally found on Mercedes gullwing cars. Speaking of Mercedes, the Pagani Huayra will be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0 liter AMG V12 engine that is said to have over 700 horsepower and 740 pound-feet (1,000 Nm) of torque and can achieve a top speed of over 230 mph. Those are some pretty impressive numbers! The V12 engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and should do the 0 – 60 sprint in a very quick time. The Pagani Huayra makes use of a lot of carbon fiber and weighs around 2,900 pounds (1,315 kg).

The interior is very luxurious and flamboyant with miles of leather surfaces, polished bits and of course liberal use of carbon fiber. A lot of cows were sacrificed to provide the beautiful soft looking leather; their deaths will not go in vein. Stayed tuned for more information on the Pagani Huayra supercar.

iPhone owners lit up the Internet on New Year's Day, fuming on Twitter and across blogs over the latest glitch in their beloved handhelds, as the device's one-time alarms failed to go off.

At the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2010, the iPhone's one-time alarm – but not the recurring alarm – ceased to work, according to technology news blog EnGadget . The glitch seemed to be affecting iPhones operation on iOS 4.0.2, iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2.1. Apple responded to EnGadget's post about the glitch, offering a temporary fix to the issue and reassuring customers that the problem will be fixed soon.

"We're aware of an issue related to non repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2. Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3," Apple said.
Fortunately for some, the glitch came on New Year's Day, a national holiday which this year also fell on a Saturday. But don't worry those of you who paid for an overpriced phone can smile at the fact that you are just making Steve Jobs richer by the second.

MAN DUBBED GRIM SLEEPER MAY HAVE KILLED 180 WOMEN

The LAPD released images of 180 women taken by the alleged " Grim Sleeper" on Thursday in the hope that family or friends will recognize them and contact authorities. In July, when Los Angeles police arrested Lonnie Franklin Jr., the man accused of being the notorious "Grim Sleeper" serial killer, they searched his South L.A. home for incriminating evidence and found nearly 1,000 still photographs and hours of video showing women, almost all of them partly or completely nude and striking sexually graphic poses.

Detectives have spent months trying to identify the women to determine whether they are alive and to learn how they came to be photographed by a man charged with sexually assaulting and killing 10 women during a crime spree that spanned two decades. The attempt has proved fruitless prompting the LAPD to release the images of 180 women in the hope that family or friends will identify them and contact investigators.

ANOTHER COOL FERRARI

Ferrari is introducing a new V8 supercar, you know there's more to come. A Spider version. A Challenge racer. Probably a CS/Scuderia-style hardcore street version somewhere down the line. And yes, a GT2 racing version. This is a cool car.

GET AN ASTON MARTIN CYGNET AT HARRODS

More than an ordinary department store, Harrods is a veritable London institution, with 360 departments spread out over seven floors of upscale shopping. The Cygnet is being shown in a ground-level window display there until December 11.

This marks the first time the production-ready Cygnet is being seen in public, with production set to begin in the new year. This is a cool gas saver.

NEW LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO

Even though the Murcielago ended production earlier this month and its successor won't begin production for a while, Lamborghini has not been spending its time idly, and will prove that by introducing the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. Billed as "less weight, more fascination," the Spyder Performante is meant to take the 'regular' Gallardo Spyder to new highs of performance with new lows of weight.

Essentially a superleggera version of the Gallardo Spyder, a total of 143 pounds have been shed from the standard convertible through the use of carbon fiber and carbon composite parts both outside and in. The convertible cover is made from carbon fiber, as is the rear spoiler, diffuser and some underbody components. Inside, the transmission tunnel cover, door panels and seat shells are CF units.
The front end has also been tweaked for looks and aerodynamic purposes, with improved cooling and more downforce on the front axle being two of the results, and better rear aero comes courtesy of a redesigned diffuser. The blast-off time from 0-to-62 mph has been dropped to 3.9 seconds, and terminal velocity comes in at 201 mph.
Always a hot car

ASTON MARTIN CLUB LOUNGE

Aston Martin Club Lounge in Singapore. The space is a new lounge for Aston Martin owners and fans alike. Located at The Prime Society in Singapore's Dempsey Hill neighborhood, the club recently opened its doors as the first location of its kind in the world, and as you might have guessed, the decor is thoroughly Aston Martin, from the pictures of the sportscars lining the walls to the coffee tables made from Aston wheels. Macallan is the whisky on offer and Grande Annee is the champagne of choice, and you can surely specify exactly how you like your martinis, but something tells us the bartenders already know.

I'm there on the next flight.
