time is t i c k i n g, time is ticking

Epik High's new fifth album is out! I am super happy about it. I wish I could go and buy a copy but sad to say that I cannot support artists and I have resolved to downloading. But that is okay. I just felt like posting since I haven't posted in like.. awhile? Feels empty if me or Pachia do not update in like a week or so.

Time is ticking for the AP TESTS. I have two weekends before my first test happens. Oh joy. And also I realized how time has GONE BY SO FAST! I was thinking about blogging about it and so I guess I will. My best friend from sixth grade added me on facebook. It was a total shock and surprise. We lost contact after she went back to Hong Kong in seventh grade. I was sad because we got really close, really fast back in sixth grade. I had to transfer late to a new school. It was surprising but Joyce and I became such good friends so quick. I used to go to her house every weekend in the summer and we would swim and listen to the Hilary Duff movie soundtrack because we went to go see it with a couple other friends at my birthday party. I even went to a new middle school, that was very far from my house, just to be with her. I hadn't really thought her until recently. After talking to her on facebook for the last couple days, it opened a whole flood of memories of sixth grade and memories at middle school. When she posted some old pictures of us and friends from sixth grade and seventh grade, I WAS SO SURPRISED at how young we looked. We really did look like little kids and I remember how "grown up" we tried to act. How hilarious it is to think back at it.

THIS WAS ALMOST FIVE YEARS AGO!!!
Look at nerdy me in the glasses.

It makes me smile though. I still think I was the same person from back then, but looking at those pictures now, I see I am not. I have grown a lot. Pretty weird to see me now, seventeen in a week and half (OOOOOOOMMMMMMGGG I AMMM GOONNNA BE OLD) and look at me back then, twelve years. Wow. A big difference. I can't believe how many things have changed in the last five years. I thank Joyce for reminding me of those times and opening all those memories back again. They were good memories. I can't wait to see her again for the first time in five years in September. She is finally coming back for a visit to America. Maybe we will have a little Merryhill/Sutter reunion with our old classmates. That would be a surprise. But I doubt much about any of us has changed. We all look the same but slightly a little older, maybe a little wiser (or stupider), and just a little more happier. I am glad those horrid middle school days are over.

a lovely spring day

Song of that day:

Heard this song like a million times that day on the radio.
We said it will forever remind us of that day.
Hilarious to lip synch to.

Yesterday was a wonderful day. It was nothing out of the ordinary but it was very special. The weather was great. It was sunny but it wasn't too hot. The breeze was light and the the sky was a sight to see. Yesterday was what spring break stands for, peace and tranquility with friends. Yesterday I went to the American River with my closest friends and we had a BBQ/picnic. The day was just very chill. I loved it. I appreciated it very much and thank that I have so many good friends around me.

Well the day before, Michelle came over to hang out and we had to decide what we were going to wear for our day to the river. Yes we were lame but we wanted to dress cute to impress even if we didn't anyone to impress. Well we walked to El Super Taco with my brother and ate a huge meal. Surprisingly my dad came there with his two friends also but he had no idea that we had come there. I always see my dad at the randomness moments when I go out to eat. Well we decided to walk around and then we walked to Kohl's to just play around and try on clothes. Well we walked from El Super Taco to Kohls (not a bad walk, like 20 minutes? or less) and well the parking lot is very large (and new) and we were walking until we realized we hit a fence. It was a very weird area to put a fence. Why would you fence up half the parking lot? So we would have to walk all the way back to the sidewalk and around to the main street to go to Kohls. So I came up with a brilliant idea and decided we should just hop the fence. The fence was not that high, probably like a foot taller than me (i am 5'2). Well I went first and the easy part is climbing up. The hard part is putting your legs over the fence and climbing down. I was wearing a jean skirt and black leggings. Well I was kind of stuck with one leg over the fence and I just kind of jumped down and I did not die. I suceeded and I started jumping with joy because I could climb a fence. Well then I realized I had tore a HUGE rip in the side of my leggings. It was sad. I had to take them off and throw them away. Then Michelle jumped the fence after me but she had a harder time since she wore jeans (her favorite ones too) but she didnt have any clothing disasters. We tried clothes and then left. We walked home. I took Michelle through this really cool nice path that went to a bridge. Yes a random bridge in a little surburbia of houses. It was a great path and it was so beautiful with the shades of trees and everything. So Michelle and I figured one day I will show that "secret path" to someone who I really like. Totally romantic righhhhtt? Haha. Too bad the bridge is over a nasty little creek with the sides of the walls all graffitified. Well we went to my house and were totally exhausted. We just laid on my bed until she had to go home. Later Pachia came to sleep over. We watched some cute Korean movies until 1 am though we would have to wake up early.

The next day, we woke up around 7ish. We were tired as hell but we had to get ready for the day. My parents were going to take us to the river and we were going to meet up everyone there. Well Melanie had arrived while Pachia and I had barely started getting ready. Then Hanh and Mylinh arrived later. It took awhile to figure out what to wear. Then we went to go pick up Chrissa at her house and we were off. We stopped at McDonalds because my parents were hungry. We waited in the car while my parents ate because we were not that hungry. Hanh and I got into another stresssing talk about budget cuts in California, financial issues, college, etc. HAHA. That is what we always end up talking about. Well after that we were off. We got to American River first and we had to wait to see where Kimber wanted us to go BBQ and set up. Well we waited for the other people to arrive, we were by the water and THERE WAS A FISH. My dad really wanted to catch it. It was the hugest fish I had seen and it was very random. We thought it was a sign of something. Because the fish had come up so close to the shallow rocks where we were. But I didn't want to kill the fish. It was amazing. Well everyone arrived and we had to drive off to another spot. Well as soon as we could, we walked to the river. It was nice but not great for swimming. The current looked really strong in some parts. Well we went back to our spot and helped out a little for setting up. Then most of the time we were all laying around chilling, waiting for food. The hamburgers we cooked were AMAZING. Though we didn't have much vegetables, it was still good. Eating is just more joyful when you are eating it with friends in beautiful weather. We played a lot. In words, the day was not as "exciting" as it sounds but that day was just nice and simple. Just laying down in the sun was just bliss. We ate oysters, pork, chicken, and more burgers. The oysters were pretty awesome with this great sauce someone made. We were all addicted to eating them. At one point I went on a walk with little Christina, Harjot, Melanie, and Pachia. We took this path that had high grass on the sides. We just wanted to see where it led us. Little Christina took a video of us but I am sure it was boring since we had nothing interesting to say. We find a steep trail down to the rocks and I went down but everyone else was too chicken to go. They all kept saying they were waiting for me to fall down while I was going down. It was nice though. I did make it down and it was beautiful. I could not enjoy my time down though because they were all being whiny and wanted to go back. So I climbed back up. We stayed at the river from 9-4pm. We played volleyball and took lots of pictures. It was just nice. Well we packed up and my mom picked us up. The girls with me and I just chilled at my house and laid in my bed. Then we watched a movie and it was very cute but we were all so dead tired. Melanie fell asleep on the floor and we were just being lazy. It was a pretty perfect day.

The one thing that made me really appreciate the day was something Hanh said. We were watching the Korean movie, Crazy Waiting for You which is about four couples and the boyfriends are going to army for their mandatory two year military service. Well I orignally did not realize how long two years is. I was saying why is it hard for girls to keep loving their boyfriends after two years. But then Hanh was like are you crazy, two years is a long time. Well I was being silly and said, "Hanh we are going to be in college in two years." Then she made that distressed sound and said "we wont have any of THIS anymore". She pointed around and before my eyes I saw what she meant. No more of us all laying around watching movies together. No more being silly together. No more being lazy together. In the next couple of years, we are all going to be split up. It was a really sad thought and I had a little sink in my heart. I guess I was being naive to believe we would all be near each other to hang out. But even two hours away from each other is hard. But it is okay. This is why I try and treasure these memories. That is why it made me glad to appreciate that spring day. And the happiness we all shared. And the bliss.

Arriving at the Lake. Hanh and Me (look at little Christina)

I love pictures of jumping but I hate doing them.
This took us a million tries.
Pachia, Me, Chrissa

Chilling with Friends

I made it to the river,
though Harjot and Melanie were rooting for me to fall down
on the steep path.

Love. We are cheesy.

Mylinh, Me, Pachia

I totally would look perfect if I didn't have my eyes closed.

We look pretty cheesy here too.

Pachia wants to beat someone up.

Here's a better pic. Though hair = eww.

l.o.v.e

HAPPY SUPER TUESDAY
for the non-Californians out there,
today is super tuesday,
BIG PRELIMINARY caucuses for the presidential candiates.

My mom went to vote and she voted for Hilary Clinton. We had a mock super tuesday at our school. I voted Barack Obama. I am not just bandwagoning with the rest of the young folk. I have heard his speeches and I've watched him and I liked him a lot especially in the youtube democratic debates. I have a lot of respect for Hilary Clinton also but I just prefer Obama. I don't care for much Republican candiates but I would love if anyone won but ROMINEY. I dislike Rominey a lot, not just for his Mormon factor. He seems to like to personally attack in the debates (no surprise of course) but he just seems to have a very slick greasy factor to me.

So my weekend. I was going to show pictures of Acadeca but MIN has not sent me the pictures yet :(. Acadeca is always fun but we always lose because our team never takes it seriously. We always just go to play and we always end up bullshitting the multiple choice but rocking the speeches and the interview. I totally rocked the interview. I had three really nice ladies that were pretty impressed by my resume. haha. I didn't think I was that great with activities but they asked me a lot of questions about my CRC college classes, student mentoring, etc. I actually do a lot of extracurriculars so I am glad that I looked so intelligent and well rounded. It surprised me that they actually were impressed by me. It was astounding. I guess since I am surrounded by such HIGH LEVEL students who do like a sport, juggle at least three or four aps and are in clubs and still get A's that I under-appreciate myself. Well for the speech I have no idea how I did. I got the worst three old people. They did not give much facial expression and since I was talking about Darfur genocide I dont think they appreciated it very much since they came across as very conservative (especially the two old guys) and I was just like crappp.. inside my head. I made my speech in like 10 minutes that morning anyway. Oh well. The Superquiz was okay. I was mostly talking to Harjot and Min the whole time. Everyone else was trying to compete with Mr. Mowrer and getting the most right answers during the Superquiz. Afterwards most of our team went to go eat PHO! It was really windy and confusing because we initially were supposed to go to Pho King 2, but then people changed it to Viet Ho (??) on Florin, then we call and they are at Viet Hoa in Laguna. It was crazy. Well our whole group took up like half of the restaurant. The pho was so-so. My mom isn't even Vietnamese and she makes better pho. Dom dropped me, Maggie, Michelle and Faith home and he drove really fast over a bump and it was really fun and we were like WHEEEE!!! But in the dangerous weather we were in, I don't think that would be recommended.

On Sunday, I went to run errands with my mom and we were by Jamba Juice by our old house. So I was like, I wonder how our old house looks like. My mom was like "lets go check it out". It was fun to remember little things about the neighborhood. I remember we would always pass by this one house where this Asian guy would always be washing/waxing his car even if it was SPRINKLING. So we are driving around the neighborhood and we get to the house and... MY HEART BROKE. The new owners had totally torn down the trees in our front yard. Our old house had this kind of "forest" as we called it. Our house was formed in an "L" shape with the front door facing the street and the garage facing the neighbor's house. Where the garage was, there was a lot of bushes lined up and this really big green patch (full of sharp vines? something strange like that) and a big tree. There was a little path which was aligned to the garage side and you could walk in (this was behind the bushes) and come to this little overhang formed by the roof and the big tree. It was our (my siblings and I) clubhouse. Well they TORE EVERYTHING DOWN and had just this big mound of dirt. And they re-did the fence and put iron bars on the windows and put a stupid white iron door (i don't know what it is call but it is the door in front of the big thick door). They even planted this ugly crop of sugarcane or something. They made the house look so Asian.

I was really sad that everything had changed. I can still remember the layout of the house and what it looked exactly. I forget that houses can change even when you have left them. Things change even when you are gone, like you were never there. That is sad.

I found a youtube video that was fanmade of the "tell me" song to the fan background. I am too lazy to find the youtube video but here is the ripped version of the song. :]

Okay so I posted a couple pics from Triumir's line just because ONE, that guy in the first picture is hot (SEXY!) and two, I liked the hat. Check out their line because it is pretty cool. I love to look at streetwear brands but you know what I have a big problem with? THEY DONT HAVE LINES FOR GIRLS. Gawd, I should just open my own damn brand because there is a lack of streetwear for girls that is actually cute and cool.

Did you hear about Kanye West's new tour coming up? It looks cool.

I would love to afford to go to that.
Today I had course selection for my senior classes. That is INSANE?!?!?!?!?!? SENIOR CLASSES. That is my future right there. Well I had a real headache trying to determine which classes I have. For one, I seem to be the only one to want to try and take it easy. Everyone else is going crazy and taking like FIVE APS. Seriously, I know I am going to slack a bit being senior year. Plus think about SENIOR PROJECT AND SENIOR APPLICATIONS. I am not about to kill myself. However, I am taking a couple APs. I was really debating on whether or not I can handle AP Calculus because I would have to double up in math in order to take it but I really think it would benefit me and not be such a burden to take it in college. Then the thing about AP ENGLISH LITERATURE! Half the people I know are regular English and half are doing AP. I think I am going to do AP because I LOVE ENGLISH but the thing that sucks is no grade changes after AP test so I don't know if I can get a B in the class. I will see after AP Language & Composition. So here is my potential schedule: physics, ap english, ap gov/honors political science (goes together), ap cal, pre-cal, ap psych, econ, etc. I hope I just get really easy electives to fill it up. Sigh... why am I surrounded by overachievers?

I am really sick of this AP ENVIRONMENT. I am surrounded with kids who are like SUPER GENIUSES. I am super competitive and it really makes me sick to my stomach if I don't take an AP that someone else is taking. I was getting really anxious if I should take SPANISH AP 4 but HELLO I HATE SPANISH!!! So I forced myself not to take it. It really kills me to think some kid would be chosen over me because they took SPANISH AP and I didn't. I know some people are thinking I am just going crazy but yeah that is how i feel. I mean I think some of my friends are going to have strokes by age 20 because of all the stress they put themselves through and their LIFE PLANS. WE ARE ONLY 16/17 guys!!! Sigh but I go through the same thing as everyone else. Stupid college admins people who make us worry like shit over this stuff.

That makes me happy. Animals are so cute.
