Stumble Upon the NCAA Tournament and Wear Daisy Dukes...

First, if you would like to participate in Doc and my (mostly Doc's) NCAA Tournament Pick 'Em Challenge then go RIGHT HERE to sign up. It's free and fun for all! But, if you wanna play, you gotta hurry. The brackets are set and the first game is Noon on Thursday.

Of course, I love March Madness and the NCAA Tournament. What I love most about it is the stories over-zealous cops in crime and drug-ridden towns launching raids of private business whose employees are playing in a tournament pool for like $10 a person. It happens every year and every year and every year the chief of police or sheriff defends the raids by saying that what those people are doing is GAMBLING! And gambling is against the law and, even worse, IT'S A SIN!!

And, we'll also get the BS story about how much American businesses lose because their employees are too busy watching tournament games and participating in those evil pools and pick 'em games. God forbid anyone EVER have any fun at all.

University of Arkansas fired their men's basketball coach John Pelphrey. I don't know if Pel deserved to be fired or not. Probably did. His teams seemingly got worse each year and even though he had the #5 recruiting class in the country coming in next year, Pel just never seemed to completely fit in here. His teams also seemed to always be full of turmoil and there were constant suspensions for unspecified reasons that, from the outside looking in, always appeared to cause MORE dissension on the team.

But I gotta tell ya, if Arkansas fired Pel just so they could hire Billy Gillispie fresh off his total and complete washout at Kentucky and his DUI's and rumors of spending as much time chasing co-eds as coaching, then I'm not gonna be particularly happy. Or worse, Tim Floyd! If you hire Floyd then you might as well reserve a whole floor of rooms at a local hotel for the NCAA posse that follows him around.

Plus, those two guys are pretty much hated by the national sports media. Sure, they all hated Bobby Petrino too, but we all knew that Pentrino would work out fine and it wouldn't matter. Not so with Floyd or Gillispie. The UofA really can't overcome that kind of beating again.

In happier news, I joined Stumble Upon. I don't really know why, but if you have a Stumble Upon acct, feel free to add me RIGHT HERE. I guess I was bored and just up and decided to do it. So, the first sites I “stumbled” were my own blog posts and a couple of episodes of “I'm With Stupid” of course. Anyway, I went back a little later and check out the pic that BTR put next to our show that started out to be about Charlie Sheen and turned into a surprise birthday party for me..

Oh yeah baby! Michelle Malkin. You can feel her hotness emanating from the computer screen.

And finally, now that my car has the correct time again because most of us have set our clocks ahead an hour (and many have whined non-stop about it for a full day which I totally don't understand), it is clear that it is now Spring. I don't care what the official first day is, it's Spring. No more cold weather allowed.

And, it's time for this to come back again...

Ah yeah. The ole “Bikini Tops with Daisy Dukes” was THE hot fashion trend around Redneckville last summer and I fully expect it to continue this year. And I can't wait.

Daisy Dukes, The Sopranos and Premium Cable Shows ...

So it looks like spring has finally sprung here in the Ozarks.  Temps climbed into the upper 80s this weekend and people were out and about.  This was a pretty common sight all weekend long...

There were also lots of people all over the area on motorcycles.  This area has become a bit of cycling hub over the last couple of years.   There is place down at Marble Falls that's hosts a number of different ride ins and whatever else they call them.  They have a hotel and a restaurant and they organize rides around the curvy and scenic back roads.  And it seems to have become pretty popular.  Hope we don't become the new home to the Hell's Angels.

Also, while at Walmart on Sunday I saw another sure sign of spring and summer.  As Bruce Springsteen puts it "Girls in Their Summer Clothes."  Ah yes, my favorite thing about summer.  Girls running around in Daisy Dukes and skimpy clothes trying to stay cool.  At Walmart there were two girls who actually went inside wearing bikini tops and Daisy Dukes.  I've gotten used to seeing them in there in their PJs, but I was a little surprised at this.  I was wondering where their mother was, until I noticed that their mother was there with them.  Mom was also wearing a bikini top and Daisy Dukes.

I may start just hanging out at Walmart on weekends for the summer.

Over the last few months I have been in a simple Sunday morning routine.  I get up and watch The Sopranos on A&E.  They show four episodes every Sunday from 8 am til 12 noon.  I never got to see The Sopranos when it ran on HBO because I didn't have HBO at the time.  I know I missed lots of good stuff over those years.  The Sopranos and The Wire are the two that I was most bummed about missing.

Until now!  I have now officially seen The Sopranos all the way through.  Just like any other normal human being.  And I loved it of course.  In fact, A&E started up the whole series again from Season One, Episode One again this last Sunday, and I'm going to watch it all the way through again.

The Wire is more problematic.  Unless I want to watch it illegally online I will probably have to get the DVDs on NetFlix to see it.  Everyone I know who watched that show goes on and on about how great it was.  But, not in the same annoying way everyone goes on and on about Lost. Also, it was created by David Simon who is the creator of Treme, which I really love.  Anyway, my only real goal in life now is to see The Wire.

Now that I think about it, I've been pretty deprived of quality entertainment by not having the premium cable channels.  Here's the list of shows that I will have to get the DVDs to watch them from start to finish if they're never shown on basic cable.

1. The Wire
2. Weeds
3. Deadwood
4. Six Feet Under
5. Dexter
6. Californication
7. The Tudors
8. The L-Word
9. OZ
10. Shameless*

*Okay, so Shameless hasn't started yet, but it's going to be on Showtime.  I really know nothing about it, but I hear Emmy Rossum gets all kinds of naked in it.

What Emmy Rossum might look like...

Last Friday Doc finally let everyone talk him into posting his Top Ten Twitter Wives on his Twitter Page.  This basically set off the greatest day in the history of Twitter.  Doc survived the day just fine too.  And, now I hear that on Wednesday, Matt-Man is going to post his Top Five Blogger Wives.  I really can't wait.  I don't like to get my hopes up, but I think there's a chance that I might make the list.

Softball Dudes Must Have Big Bats ....

So I was driving down Industrial Park Road the other night, going somewhere really important I’m sure when I rolled up on one of the softball fields here in town. This is the one right next to the fire station, across the street from the mall. Anyway, there were some games going on and there was a pretty big crowd. Apparently the first game had just ended as there were several players and fans crossing the street to the parking lot.

As I was sitting there waiting for them to all cross I noticed that all the women were, uh, hot. Seems as though almost each of these softball players had really hot young wives/girlfriends. Then I looked over at the field and noticed a group of about eight or so women leaning against the fence down teh first base line and noticed that they were hot too. All were there wearing their Daisy Dukes and white tank-tops.

I was starting to enjoy the view when the guy behind me honked and I looked up and realized that it was clear and I could move on. So, I flipped the guy off and left.

But, as I was leaving I started wondering about something. Since when did “Softball Dude” start getting all the babes? I’ve played softball, and there weren’t any of these babes hanging around back in the day at all. These girls do know that Softball Dude isn’t going to be playing Major League Baseball, right? I mean, he’s not going to be making $13 million a year playing for the Yankees anytime soon. Even if he does play softball games as if he thinks each game is the seventh game of the World Series.

Sure, you expect to see all these country girls in their tight short shorts at the rodeo. That’s totally understandable that rodeo guys would have hot groupies. Those guys are rough and rugged and really manly. And they’ve all got that sexy stubble and are wearing cowboy hats that all the women swoon over. Not to mention those awesome HUGE belt buckles. Those are hot too. So, everybody knows that babes love the cowboys.

But, Softball Dude just doesn’t make any sense to me. Those guys are usually pricks. They always bitch when anyone makes an error of any kind. They yell at people to “hustle” all the time or get pissed if they don’t think a teammate is running out a ground ball like he should. And when they hit a pop-up they throw the bat in disgust. So what exactly is so appealing about these dudes? And I’m not exaggerating the level of hotness that was there either. Seriously, race car drivers don’t have girls this hot hanging around. Okay, maybe they do, but you get the idea.

Anyway I’m thinking about playing softball again for the first time in years. I was pretty good at. I played right field. They put me out there where I couldn’t hurt anyone because of my laser, rocket arm. And I did hit a home run once. Yup, clobbered that thing right over the fence and the center fielder and left fielder slammed into each other while trying to catch the ball. Neither caught the ball and it rolled all the way to the fence as I circled the bases with blinding speed. Home. Run. Baby.

After I scored I was all excited and ready to celebrate. But, everybody was all like “Dude, what are you celebrating for? Wendell and Joey are both being taken off on a stretcher. Show some class.” Turns out those guys both had concussions and had to be taken to the hospital. I swear, some people will do anything to ruin my moment.

I don’t know, maybe someday there will be a group of eighteen year old babes all in their Daisy Dukes yelling and cheering when I dominate at online ping-pong.
