COOL NIXON HEADPHONES
Designed for DJs, the Nixon RPM Headphones ($200) blend hefty electronics with simple, oversized-looking aesthetics that wouldn't look out of place in a cartoon — and we mean that in a good way. Highlights include custom 40mm drivers, articulating joints, gel-filled ear cushions, an interlocking coiled cable, and an additional iPhone-compatible cable with remote and mic for those times when you have to listen to something other than music. I love headphones but ca't afford any of them.

COOL AIR FORCE 1 SPEAKERS
The Sneaker Speakers were made by high-end sneaker customizer Nashmoney for the recent Inspired Ingenuity creative competition for Havana Club. They’re made from a pair of Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, with a full-range and tweeter loaded into each shoe, along with volume controls, an amplifier and controls built into the right shoe (er, left speaker.) One of the coolest things I have seen this year.

I NEED THIS
the Hoerboard Scomber Mix Table (€1,700; roughly $2,300). Mixing a CNC-designed MDF top deck — customized to hold your gear, and sporting a built-in power point to eliminate unsightly cables — with a laser-cut, powder-coated steel support. I'm ordering this today.

MY GRANDMA IS ROCKIN NYC
I just love these types of stories. Number one because I am a Dj and number two I hope I can rock a crowd like that when I am 69 years old.

IPAD DJING
Sobhany, 24, uses a two-iPad DJ setup to explore the next generation of music production. Two iPads, a mixer, and eight apps — cost about $1,400. Traditional equipment will cost you $4,000
Being a DJ I can say I am not too fond of this setup. It doesn't give you the real feel of what djing is about. Plus I think the Ipad sucks.
