Bush vs Obama - Talking to the Kids

We all know that George W. Bush was a little dopey. Okay, he was a lot dopey. But at least you knew what you were getting. And he had a bit of a country hillbilly charm.

Someone forwarded these 2 pictures to me and I think they are hysterical. One shows George W. Bush, dressed casually, talking to the kids through a school microphone as they sit around him.

The other pictures shows Obama standing at attention at an official White House podium, speakers and teleprompters around him so that he can deliver his flawless agenda, and a security guard behind him ready to tackle any 7 years olds that may get too close to the President.

Now, does Obama look like he came to talk with you, or does he look like he came to talk TO you? Which one looks like he's more down to Earth. Obama - you need to lighten up a little!

Obama and Hitler

The Townhall meetings across America are not turning out to be as successful as the Democrats had expected. I think Pelosi, Hoyer, Cardin and all of their conniving cohorts had hoped that they could rally the country to support socialize medicine, but instead are running into a thick wall of resistance. Do the people of the American really not want the government dictating their medical treatments? Do Americans think a bloated government bureaucracy will not be able to effectively manage the healthcare system? But the townhall meetings continue.

Splashing itself all across the news today is a story of a shouting match between Barney Fwank, the liberal extremist Democrat from Massachusetts, and a female protester comparing Obama to Hitler. The dialog goes like this:

"Why are you supporting this Nazi policy?"

Frank responds: "On what planet do you spend most of your time?" He then calls her approach "vile, contemptible nonsense." He closes by saying: "Trying to have a conversation with you would be like arguing with a dining room table."

And the liberal media has been quick to jump on this story as anecdotal evidence proving the lunacy of the conservatives and their irrational fear of government intervention in the private healthcare industry. These conservatives are so crazy that they are comparing Obama to Hitler.

How can you rationally argue with someone when they are comparing you and your proposal to Hitler? Hmmm….this sounds familiar.

Is it because….the media is a bunch of hypocrites?

Please End the Torture, Mrs. Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi gave her weekly speech today highlighting how wonderful she and the Democratically-controlled Congress are and how awful the Bush Administration was. Like always, she avoided the controversial questions by reiterating how wonderful she is and how Bush sucked. It makes for good public relations.

In the speech today she talked about how the Bush Administration condoned torture of Iraqi and Saudi terrorists, while the Obama Administration is firmly against it. She pointed out that the CIA under Bush misled the Congress about torture, but now that Obama is in charge they are telling them everything. And the Democrats in Congress are also being totally honest with the public, too, unlike those devious Republicans.

Pelosi pointed out how horrible conditions were during the Bush Administration and how wonderful they are now. Each time she reiterated that the torture was going to stop. However, she kept talking. And talking. And talking.

What I want to know - are we ending the torturing of prisoners, but continuing the torture of the American public who follow politics? If Pelosi continues her mindless dribble and self-patronizing trumpeting, isn't she, in fact, supporting torture? Doesn't this make her a hypocrite? Make it stop!

Janeane Garofalo - Open-Minded Bigot

Everyone knows that Keith Olbermann is a fascist left-wing lunatic that takes great pride in free speech, but only when it's applied to other liberal left-wing lunatics. And it only seems fitting that he has guests on his show who are also fascist left-wing extremists that agree with everything he says. Hence, Janeane Garofalo.

If you have not heard, the festively plump Miss Garofalo went off on Conservatives and Republicans and Libertarians alike as being a bunch of black-hating racists. In her bigoted eyes, there is nothing else that can explain the stupid tea parties that were held across the country recently. No - you were not really protesting the government's billion dollar bailouts of the car companies and banks. You, in fact, hate black people.

Apparently, according to obnoxious name-calling Garofalo, if you haven't protested against the Bush Administration (and it seems implied that NO ONE spoke out against the Bush Administration), then you are a racist and your free speech and rights to assemble have been revoked.

If if weren't for the fact that this tattoo-besmirched atheist has a pedestal to stand behind because of her "celebrity" status, we would all ignore her and her liberal propaganda and she would eventually go away, just like Cindy Sheehan and Jerry Falwell. But instead, I get to call her names like poop-head, because, as far as I know, I still have my first amendment rights. Oh, and I'm not a racist, despite what Janeane thinks. And I feel no need to prove it.

The President's Drunk Vacation

I have a handful of loyal readers. Some of them even leave comments. I have one loyal reader who I would describe as a well-informed reader who can argue a good point. This person has even called me out a couple of times. However, yesterday this person questioned something that makes we want to respond.

Now, as you probably have guessed by now, this blog is mostly satire. Nearly everything I say is tongue-in-cheek. Obama is going to make the financial world collapse. (Tongue-in-cheek). Martin O'Malley is a self-indulgent arrogant jerk seeking higher political office with no regard for the middle class of people that he destroys. (NOT tongue-in-cheek).

So here is the comment that was left recently:

I prefer him being able to drink a beer to taking 250 days off in about the first year and a half of his Presidency.

Now, I honestly do not give a crap if the President is drinking a beer at the Wizards game. Good for him! It shows that he is more like the rest of us. He likes to relax and enjoy himself now and then rather than trying to appear all prim and proper and fake all the time, like the first 42 Presidents (yes - there have been 43 prior Presidents, but Grover Cleveland was 2 of them since he had non-consecutive terms!)

As far as Bush taking 250 days off in the first year and a half of his Presidency? Well, like me, this user MAY have been stating it tongue-in-cheek, but I don't know. But let's think about it.

Do you really think the President flew back to Crawford and spent half of his first term hanging out with Laura, watching the tube, drinking beers, goofing off on the Internet (if he even knows how), washing his truck, and mowing the lawn? I seriously doubt it. I have read 2 books by previous Press Secretaries (Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan) and both books say that every time the President went to Crawford for a "vacation", nearly the entire White House staff went along. Additionally, the days were filled with visits from dignitaries, special interests, Senators, Representatives, and perhaps a few space aliens (Oh, wait, that was during the Carter Administration!).

So, rather than thinking of this time as being a vacation, President Bush, like him or not, was more or less utilizing the flexible work schedules that many of us enjoy. You know, you get those emails from co-workers, "I'm working from home today". Why does the President need to be at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue when he can do the same work in Crawford, Texas?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not defending former President Bush. I don't expect President Obama to engage in alternative work scheduling and co-locating as he has young children living at the White House, but I do not think there is any overwhelming reason why the President cannot work from home. The End.
