Question: 'I see 22 everywhere. When I look at a sign, paper or clock there's ALWAYS a 22, specially 22:22, that I see everyday. It's not like I'm looking for it, it just pops out in many different situations (addresses, ID numbers, passwords, people I meet). I just opened a new bank account, they gave me the number 7384. My new girlfriend was born in 11/11, I work at the 22º floor, my number in college was 122, my brother´s birthday is 02/02. 22 are the last digits on my speedometer every time I look at it. Also, at every 22 minute point after every hour, I “happen” to catch it (not looking for it either). The 22nd day of february (2/22) was also one of the worst days I have had in a while. I happened to be on a 22 mile drive the other day and we passed a salon called “Salon 22″. One night I had a dream in which God told me to write him a song. I saw big wall in front of me and it had some words on it. When I looked in the sky (it was night) I saw a spaceship and number 22 written by stars. I often have 22 cents come back as my change. I go to the store to buy stuff and it would usually ring up 2.22 or 22.00 dollars. The earliest date that I remember was in 1990. I told my mom that I was going to die on February 22 that year but I didn’t. One time as a medical student while I was walking home from the hospital downtown Toronto I looked up at an L.E.D. sign at 2:22 a.m. which then flashed “Jesus loves you”. That was the first and last time that I had ever seen that on that sign. Last night I was playing poker with some friends, I folded and my friend Caio showed me his hand: 22, and I said: "u know I attract this number, lol". So came the flop: 22Q, and he made a quad. We were astonished. I'm just a regular guy, but I'm very curious (and kinda freaked) about it. What does it mean?' -- anonymous
Answer: Twenty-two is an even composite number, its proper divisors being 1, 2 and 11. 22 is the sixth discrete semiprime and the fourth in the (2.q) family. With 21 it forms the second discrete semiprime pair. 22 has an aliquot sum of 14 and is the fifth composite number found in the 7-aliquot tree. It has a 7- member aliquot sequence 22, 14, 10, 8, 7, 1, 0 of which the next two members are themselves discrete semiprimes, 22 is the first discrete semiprime exhibiting this property. 169 also has 14 as its aliquot sum. 22 is itself the aliquot sum of two numbers 20, 38. It is also a pentagonal number and a centered heptagonal number. When cutting a circle with just six line segments, the maximum number of pieces that can be so created is 22, thus 22 is a central polygonal number (see lazy caterer's sequence). The sum of the totient function for the first eight integers is 22. 22 is a Perrin number, preceded in the sequence by 10, 12, 17. 22 divided by 7 approximates the irrational number π, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Since it is possible to find sequences of 22 consecutive integers such that each inner member shares a factor with either the first or the last member, 22 is an Erdős–Woods number.
Answer: In numerology, the number 22 is considered perhaps the most talented and the most successful of all the numbers. The number twenty-two seeks to help others in any way they possibly can. They do this only with strong intuitive abilities, but also through natural leadership skill. The number twenty-two seeks to brings balance and harmony into the lives of everyone and will work hard in order to make it happen. The number 22 is a master number; therefore it carries with it the extreme sensitivity that all master numbers share. The number 22 would do best seeking out those that can understand their special gifts and their unique vision and that will be there to follow their lead and support them every step of the way. Like all master numbers, the sensitivity that the number 22 has is a double-edged sword. The sensitivity can provide phenomenal intuitive help, but it can also give way to sensory overload. That sensory overload then can lead to an unbalanced life and, in worse case scenarios, illness or disease. Control can be a real issue for the number 22. Many times the people born into the twenty-two life path will seek to have control over all aspects of life. This can both drive people away and cause others to want to manipulate them.

p.s. Hey. ** David Ehrenstein, Thank you again for the great, great weekend. It's really true that you feel Antonioni slipping away in 'BtC'. I guess that could have quite interesting and moving if you didn't feel Wenders slipping in at the same time. I've never seen 'Identification of a Woman'. I guess I've been nervous about it. But with your recommendation, I'll catch up with it. ** David, Hey. Thanks a lot about the 'sets' day. I hope you're feeling a lot better. ** Bernard Welt, You probably know this, but wow is mom upside down. ** Sypha, Hey. Ha ha, given what (fairly little) I know about Ligotti, it makes a weird sense that he'd be into prog rock somehow. I would say he's wishing for the sardonic in the case of those lyrics, but only Peter Sinfield knows for sure, I guess. ** Paul, Hey. Oh, wait, Paul Cunningham. That's interesting or something because I just read your ebook 'Metro Goldwyn Mayer' like a week ago, and I really liked it. So I get to tell you, which is cool, for me at least. Nursing praise in private can be dangerous. Anyway, it's lovely to have you here. Thank you. Everyone, commenter Paul is sometimes better known by the name P. Edward Cunningham, and he's a heck of a really good writer, imho, and you can find out if you agree with me by reading his terrific and free echapbook 'Metro Goldwyn Mayer right here, for example. His blog is also a constantly updated storehouse of very valuable goods of all variety, and you should check it out too. It's here. Yeah, thanks, Paul. Come back anytime, naturally. ** Christopher/ Mark, Hey, Mark. Thanks! ** Alan, Actually, they're Timberlands, but that's very kind of you to say. Yeah, it's really hard reconcile the blowhard Sollers you see on TV over here with the writer and thinker he used to be or played at being or whatever. ** Bollo, Hey. Fun sounds good. With a friend: like a collab thing? I sit a lot too. It kind of sucks, but I'm a writer, so I guess it makes sense. Artists get to stand sometimes. That must be nice. ** Steevee, Blogger is weird. I have heard the new Cold Cave, and I'm definitely so-so about it. It makes me think that the things I liked pretty well and thought were fresh about the earlier stuff might not have been all that intentional after all or something. ** Carles, Hey, hello, welcome. I couldn't get that playlist to load, I don't know why. The site wouldn't give it to me. I'm going to try again today. If it's what it says it is, wow, thank you a lot! Everyone, I think if you click this link and either are signed up at Spotify or take the few seconds to sign up, you might end up at a playlist made by commenter Carles containing my 50 favorite songs. It hasn't worked for me yet, but my computer is on its deathbed. ** _Black_Acrylic, Really, really hope you get great news on that apartment today. 'Cave of Forgotten Dreams' is already playing where you are? You are so lucky. France doesn't even have a release date yet. ** James, Hey. Oh, that probably means I can buy a flesh and blood copy of 'TPK' here now too. And I will. Needless to say. And I will avoid the postscript thing, ugh. I did admire your piece on DFW a lot. Kudos and thanks for alerting me to it. I thought it earned the Mellencamp reference. And that's really saying something, ha ha. Best to you! ** Killer Luka, Are you related to Luke Halpin? Or to Luke in Star Wars? Probably not, right? I'll go check my email. Cool. Dressed like the 60s in what way? Well, at least it ended up Warholian, but at what cost. Did she return your calls? She's probably just humiliated, right? Which is so not a 60s reaction. Paris is treating me really, really well right now, thank you. How's the big M treating you? ** Tosh, Hey, Tosh. Monk, totally, fucking hell, yeah, sublime. ** The Dreadful Flying Glove, Hey. Eight thick pages sounds like a victoire to me. I didn't get a binge, but I think a binge right now would be unnatural. So it's okay. Oh, yeah, not such a great day you had there. Pillows can be very benevolent. Was yours? I bet you have a fluffy one. Just a guess. Mine's in between flat and substantial. It's versatile. Any enlightenment on the Belew front would be most welcome, of course, but it's not a rush job, so, you know, just be yourself and live the life you want. That's the important thing. ** L@rstonovich, Hey. Blake Butler and Justin Taylor are reading at Powells. Soon, I think. Very soon. You should go see them maybe? Plus, they're cool guys, obviously. I'm glad I got to see SkullHum TV too. Very glad. Man, that's a seriously nice LP haul there. All the Sparks records? I mean, that would be, like, 24 albums or something. Thanks a lot about the 'TIHYWD' trailer thing. I wish you could see the thing itself. ** Chilly Jay Chill, Hey, winner! Your 'J/TTT' will be winging its way to you today if I can find an envelope somewhere in this messy room that I live in. Mm, I would steer clear of 'Beyond the Clouds'. The feeling it produced was neither pleasant nor interesting. I do like me some 'Rose King'. Its over-the-topness is one of his best successes in that regard, I think. ** Chris Cochrane, Hey. Sure, sure, whatever from my archives or anything, no problem. I'm assuming they'll approve it. It seems like they approve pretty much everything. Well, yeah, I'll listen to it in Utrecht, of course. One, I want to very much, and, two, having been in Utrecht, there's not a whole lot to do there, frankly. ** Andrew, Hi, Andrew! Yeah, you've been away. I've been wondering where you were and how you are and all that. I haven't seen 'Oddities'. It sounds totally like something I want to watch. It reminds me of ... I forget the name. A TV show that used to be on SciFi about this shop whose owner and employees tracked down dangerous, magic antiques and things in the world every week. Cool about getting into the college. It might be worth the student loans repayment stuff. Most of my friends have been paying off or avoiding or not paying off student loan debt for years, and they seem fairly content and sane. ** Misanthrope, Whenever I see a link with NPH in it, it means No Push Here, ha ha ha, ahem. Oh, I remember about that boy whom you said died. That's really sad. Watching that production would have been very melancholy. I don't know if you saw the 'West Side Story' movie, but the dancing in it wasn't exactly macho either. They tried, though. Of course, an effeminate street gang sounds hot to me. BoyCrush should get on that. You sent me that story? Cool. I'll look at my mail. Yeah, I do not get why corporations don't pay taxes. At all. That is one sick fact. ** Inthemostpeculiarway, Someday, when the spiders take over the world, they're going to try all of us on charges of genocide in the spider community's equivalent of the Hague and we're all going to be so fucked. I'm glad you liked 'Gospel of Anarchy'. Me too, as you know. I wonder if Justin still reads this blog and saw your review and smiled. I don't think he does, though. That image of you loading your uncle's tools in his truck was a really new and different way to think about you. I don't know why. That was interesting. Yes, that song you linked me to was much more pleasurable than the ATeens one, even if I did enjoy the ATeens song and video in that weird way I mentioned. Thank you. I've never read that Jim Thompson novel. I like his stuff. Hm, I'll note that one down in case I see it here somewhere. I liked your days report. It was nice, actually. Mine: Hm. I think on Saturday I just worked a lot on emails and the blog and some writing and stuff like that. I know I must have gone shopping because it was Saturday and I needed food for Sunday. Gosh, Saturday is mostly a blank now. Weird. On Sunday, I did more of the above (blog, email, writing). I met up with Gisele at Point Ephemere just up the canal because she wanted advice about what to show in her upcoming gallery exhbition. The weather was really great, and there were lots of people hanging out along the canal's banks sunning and stuff. Gisele was late, so I waited for her outside PE smoking. I noticed that Oneohtrix Point Never is playing there next week, and I decided I would see that. And maybe see Gold Panda, who are playing there soon too. Gisele showed up, and we got coffees at PE's cafe and went into her studio and picked out the photos for the show and figured out how they should be installed. She said the gallery wants me to do a reading at the opening, but I said no to that. All that took about three hours 'cos we also talked about stuff too. Mostly about the maze piece. That isn't very interesting. But then I walked back here and worked and stuff. I ate. I watched a TV show about Naples, Italy and what a crime ridden total mess it is, and I felt glad that Yury and I didn't go there on our trip. I found out that there's a special French Top Chef show tonight where the winners of the first and second seasons will square off, and of course I decided to watch it. Oh, man, that was boring, sorry. I guess my weekend was sort of a wash that I will stop belaboring now. Now it's today finally. How was yours? ** Schlix, Hi, Ui. Man, sorry about Blogger's cruel hunger. I wish I could fix that. You good? ** Tender prey, Hey. No, the porn set art photos were the ones where there's nobody there, just the set. I still can't remember the artist. I think it's a her. Thanks for the Berlin gallery link. I'll go have a look at it. I hope you guys are getting this amazing summery weather we're getting. It's just like honey. ** Chris (British), That does sound nice. The tattoo, but also the five star Fiji joint, naturally. Take pictures, yeah. Of that tattoo and, heck, of the five star Fiji joint too 'cos why not? I'm pretty light on the Facebook usage and visiting except when I'm in a certain mood that I can't define. I don't feel its pull that much. I'm not sure why. Hm. ** Okay. I probably should have made today's post a contest and given a prize to the 22nd commenter, but I don't have a prize handy. So, it'll have to stand on its own. Which is okay, right? Hope so. Bye until tomorrow.
