p.s. Hey. Let's see ... Oh, I have a very early flight to Holland tomorrow morning, so, as usual in those kinds of cases, there won't be my normal interacting in the p.s. It'll just say hey and make some brief introductory remark about the post. As I mentioned a few days ago, due to the fact that my lodging and internet issues while in Holland are a big question mark, the blog and I are going to take a long weekend off beginning Friday. So, I'll be catching up with whatever comments that get left around today's and tomorrow's posts when the blog returns to normal on Monday. If you happen to be Paris, the 'This Is How You Will Disappear' shows at the Centre Pompidou begin tonight, and, if you're coming tonight, maybe I'll see you there. Tonight and tomorrow night are sold out, but there still were a few tickets left for Friday, or there were as of late yesterday afternoon. ** Alter Clef Records, I would love to be able to say that I never used the adjective awesome before we started corresponding too, I'm afraid that is not in fact the case. Speaking of awesome, how nice that you and Joe are back together and that you're feeling optimistic about the reunification! I'm a bit so-so about Former Ghosts, to be honest with you. I have mixed feelings, but at least the feelings are more positive than not. Very cool about that interesting sounding Day and the notes. Bring 'em on, and thank you a lot, Nickster. ** Thomas Moronic, Hi, man. Ikeda's recordings are great, but you should really try to see the sounds with the visuals if you can. Pretty amazing. New stuff by you on Transductions is great news indeed! I, of course, will get the pleasure post-p.s., but ... Everyone, the amazing writer and guy Thomas Moronic has a new story up on the great Transductions site, and no doubt you know enough to click this link and be over there as soon as you are able. Really look forward to that, Thomas! ** Schoolboyerrors, If I could choose my own nickname ... Hm, how about 'him'. That would be confusing and interesting. The only nicknames I've ever been given were derivations of my name: Den, Denny, Coop, the Coop, the Coopster, Dennis the Menace, and so on. Chainsaw is nice, yeah. That 'One + One' link didn't work, for me at least, but I can find the place on my own. Very excited to hear you're working on a piece on Tati, much less in relation to Somatic Geometry (I googled it; very interesting). Man, you really need to link us up as soon as that piece is public, okay? One of my as-yet unrealized dreams/plans is to write a novel that would be a novel the way Tati's films are films in as many respects as possible. ** David Ehrenstein, Oh, she was in the Kaufman film, that's right. I forgot. It's curious with her because at one time early on I thought she was the most exciting actress going, but then her approach and style became familiar and, for me at least, her performances stopped amazing me. Weird (or not) how that happens with some actors, Edward Norton and Kevin Spacey being a couple of examples that spring quickly to my mind. ** Alan, No problemo. ** David, Jeff Goldblum works most of my friends' nerves, but I have a fondness for his schticky acting for some reason. ** Frank Jaffe, Hey, Frank! I'm glad those girls aren't in charge of the future of fashion although 'hippie' might be workable re: my own personal wardrobe. Well, you know, how amazing and thank you a lot for querying the folks there re: a possible 'Them' performance. If I can help or grease the wheels or anything in any way, just say the word. I don't know Mater Suspiria Vision, but I like the sound of them, and I like Salem and their sonic comrades, so I'll definitely seek them out, and the video you mentioned first. Thanks, big F. ** Toniok, I can think of a bunch of better sites than this, but none with a better population. Aww, ha ha. It's true, though. You take care too, man. How's it going with you-know-what? ** Kiddiepunk, So, I'm assuming you made it south safe and sound. Yes, yesterday went pretty well, thanks only to you and the Osc. See you happily when we're back. ** ZS, Zoe! I love you too! Wow, this is really awesome having you here? How are you? I'm sure hoping that I get the honor of meeting you one of these days. There's vague talk of me doing a reading in Philadelphia when my new novel comes out. Maybe then if I'm lucky? Lots of respect to you and yours, and take care! ** Trees, Hi, Trees! Great to see you. You sound like you've been creatively and masterfully busy, man. Oh, cool, I'll read your talk very greedily a little later. Everyone, d.l. and mega-talent Trees, and here I'll quote, 'gave a talk on April 8th between Brian Whitener and Jena Osman about being a queer, punk, sex working poet, which went extraordinarily well. You and everyone else can read it here.' You should, quite obviously, so please do. You're coming to LA with Math? Fantastic! I hope my dates there coincide, and it sure seems like they will, even though I don't know them yet. Good luck on the editing. I'm an editing machine myself right now, ugh. ** Hyrule Dungeon, It is. Gorgeous, I mean. You good? Odd Future is threatening to eat my life too, or the sonic input portion of my existence anyway. It feels good. ** Wolf, I think hippo is a great choice, even if you don't look a thing like one in your current incarnation. All the more reason, I guess. I still can't land on an animal that I'd want to be. Maybe a meerkat? ** Bollo, Odd Future is really fucking exciting, right? Man, I'm hoping they perform over here. ** Pisycaca, Hey, Montse! Yeah, I think we're set for Sunday. I don't think Deerhunter are playing here. I scoured the listings yesterday. I think we're getting skipped unless they're doing a secret show or one that isn't on the listers' radar. Given that I'm going away for a few days, I'd probably miss them anyway, as is my usual situation with them. Anyway, I'll see you on Sunday with bells on and a fierce need to smoke! ** Steevee, Hey. Cool on the computer and on the missing pounds. And on the two really interesting assignments. Bigelow is probably tired of talking about 'Near Dark', but I always want to hear more of what she has to say about it. ** _Black_Acrylic, Sounds like you're pretty in like Flynn on the apartment front. Fingers crossed just in case. ** Paul Curran, Thanks, Paul. Thanks for the wishes on the Holland trip, and wishes right back to you on the novel trip. ** Oscar B, Thanks, bud. People loved it, and I was proud. How's that white dress hanging on you? Ricardo looks like he/she is doing just fine thus far if prettiness is anything to judge by. Have fun, survive the duties, and hurry back. ** L@rstonovich, Wow, you finished 'TPK' already? Nice going. I haven't even bought it yet. So, it didn't feel incomplete or unfinished or under-realized or anything? Two new Skullhums! At least one of them will be lighting my fire while I pack my bags today. Thanks! Everyone, L@rstonovich's must-listen radio program Skullcrushing Hummingbird has its two most recent shows online and wholly listenable for no cost whatsoever. Make the journeys, learn, and learn to live again. By clicking this. Have a fine long weekend, man. ** Casey McKinney, Hey, Casey! ** C.C., Hey. Wow, yeah, a lot happened since you were here last, all very good, even with the rough patch, it sounds like. Great about the contacts and steady money, obviously, and I sure look forward to seeing the film and novel work whenever the time ends up being right. ** Sypha, People here aren't lynching-inclined, except in rare cases, I guess. Interesting that you found that book interesting. Like I said, her writing was just too awful, in my opinion, for me. Thanks for the Crass tip. I have that album somewhere, although I think it's on vinyl and in LA, so I'll see if I can overhear it somewhere. ** Ken Baumann, I'm considering 'Transformers 3' too. So, accept an understanding cringe and high five from me. Obviously, I hope your new novel attempt sticks. Yeah, totally, I make voluminous notes and graphs and equations and stuff when I'm developing a possible novel in almost all cases. It definitely helps me. I'm itching like crazy for the mystery Sator book. I'll hover over my mailbox like that spaceship in 'District 9'. Okay, let's see the tattoo, man. Pony up. Please tell me it's not an early 90s modern primitive style armband. ** MANCY, The animation/ loop things sound very intriguing, so I hope you get to learn that new software. Oh, and I'll finally be in touch about the show thing when I get back from Holland. Take care. ** Inthemostpeculiarway, Hunh, that new Drescher sitcom sounds kind of possibly promising. I hardly ever buy anything so, yeah, it's not like I avoid Walmart. It's just sort of like a store-shaped cloud in the earthbound sky or something. Yeah, I'm past the ass stuff and trying to explain the structure of the George Miles Cycle, which is more daunting still. I guess it's more like walking trails get unpopular rather than get abandoned? Although maybe it's like those sad roads you see sometimes alongside highways that used to be 'highways' before the highways were built? Of course that scene with your friend and the increasingly pounding rain was very atmospheric and interesting because reading about it didn't get me wet. There's a Dahmer vs. Gacy movie in the works? Holy shit. I think I need to see that even if it's the worst movie ever. My day: Interview editing mostly. Getting ready for my trip, although that mostly involved procrastinating about getting ready for my trip and leaving everything for today. That thing with Love Magazine may be at an impasse. That issue's theme is 'fetish' apparently, and the stylist guy says t-shirts and jeans are not fetishy enough, which tells me that what they really want to do is dress me in some fetish wear thing, and that's what the guy all but said explicitly, and I can't see myself doing that, so we'll see if the article happens at all. It was sunny and warm and very nice out. Later in the day, I walked down to the Centre Pompidou for the final dress rehearsal of 'TIHYWD'. Since it was Tuesday, the Pompidou was closed, and getting inside was a huge hassle with people calling people who called people to find out if I could be let inside. Eventually, I was, and I had to use this electronic card to go through this confusing labyrinth of electronically locked doors and hallways to reach the stage, but I finally did. Then I watched the soundcheck and lighting finessing stuff and talked to the two Jonathans and Gisele and everybody. The lighting designer Patrick showed me his secret smoking room, which was this unused room full of equipment, and I smoked there a few times rather than go back through the labyrinth to get outside. The dress rehearsal was a bit messy, but it'll all be fine by tonight. Then it was late, and I left, although I got stopped on my way out by a suspicious guard and then taken to some secret room where I was briefly interrogated about why I was in the closed Pompidou, but they eventually let me leave. I walked home, and it was bedtime by then, so I chatted with Yury briefly and hit the sack. Now, you have four non-blog days to live out and then report back on, as do I, so I'll meet you back here on Monday whereupon I'll read your long weekend report and then unfold my long weekend in wordage as best I can. Take care of yourself until then. ** Tender prey, Hi, Marc. Wow, those new drawings are just exquisite! Major respect and thanks for sharing them. Everyone, top notch d.l. tender prey aka the fantastic visual artist Marc Hulson has posted some new drawings on his blogs, and they're incredible. You must go look at them for tons of excellent reasons, and you get to them in a flash just by clicking this. Really, really beautiful work, Marc! ** Misanthrope, George, sir. Bandaids, yeah, that's another one. I wonder if there was a publishing company at some point called Book. Why were we talking about speedos? Hold on, I'll go smoke a cigarette and try to remember. Okay, I'm back, and I'm still not sure, but I think maybe Oscar and Kiddiepunk and I were joking about proper wedding attendee attire and ... ? I don't remember. It wasn't a sexy conversation. That much I remember. ** I believe that's that. The post ... oh, gosh, is so entirely self-explanatory, I'm sure. I need to go run around preparing for my trip and cramming things into a backpack and a laptop carrying case now. Tomorrow, the blog will see you, as will a brief message from moi, and then I'll be back to blahdiblah with you on Monday. Have very fine, long weekends, every single one of you, okay? Promise?
