p.s. Hey. If you happen to be in LA and free tonight, do come to the reading that Mark Gluth, James Greer, and I are giving at Book Soup. It's at 7 pm tonight, and the locale is 8818 W. Sunset Blvd., (310-659-3110). Speaking of readings, in the morning Mark, James, and I will drive north to San Francisco for tomorrow night's version. As a result, there won't be a full-fledged p.s. tomorrow, just a hi and etc., and then on Wednesday, the blog will be taking the day off because I'll be flying back to LA at the time I'd normally be blogging. Everything will be back to the usual on Thursday, and that's when I'll catch up with any comments that get left here today and tomorrow. Thanks to everybody who sent in your SPD entries. The turn-out turned out to be quite healthy. Due to the aforementioned road trip and events and the time it takes me to assemble the SPD posts, I'm going to play it safe and plan to post the Brush with Fame SPD not on this coming Friday and Saturday but rather the following weekend, i.e. on Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th. I think that's all for now. Oh, I want to give a hopeful shout out to Inthemostpeculiarway. Are you out there and all right, man? ** Heliotrope, Hey, Mark. I hope you're feeling better today. Give me a call, yeah? ** Tingting, Well, the next time I need new shoes, I'll know where to sort of begin to consider going. ** Catachrestic, Hey, Jared! Lovely see you, man. Oh, it's cool, I dig about the busyness, no problem. Oh, okay, cool, I'll keep my eyes out for her tonight. Or it tomorrow? I'll do a two-day eyes peeled thing to be safe. Melt Banana is most deafening band I've ever seen too. I'm pretty sure the damage is still in play, in fact. It'd be great to see you here during your free days, and even if I'm impaired on the commenting until Thursday, I'll read and revel. Take care, dude. ** Changeling, Hey. More beautiful new writing by you. Man, I really like your work. Kudos. Gram Parsons is major for me. He makes me cry, and that's pretty hard. '1000 Dollar Wedding' is my pinnacle. It's really nice to see you, sir. ** Bill, Yeah, the posting schedule time shift has a nice shuffling effect on the crew's power dynamic, ha ha. Countdown to seeing you is on. ** Tomas, Hey. Thanks again so much, T. How's Paris? Very slightly warmer, I hear. Take care, hopefully see you ere long after my return, and love to Alex. ** Mark, Tomorrow, yeah, man. ** David Ehrenstein, Wonderful to see you and Bill last evening. I hope the prize flattered your chompers. ** Chris (British), The Eastern European stuff du jour that I like best is a lot about setting and costumes. The curious, clashing, hopeful setting and costuming has kind of replaced plot. It's the nature of online porn, and how it's built to be watched in short bursts, I guess. ** David, Mm, yeah, I think I did something on the Gary Wilde porn film here or rather on the dead blog ages ago. I'll go check. ** Sypha, Hey. It's cool about the SPD no show, of course. I was just trying to drum up business like I do. I think it turned out big and very well. ** Steevee, You know, your dream idea is not such a bad idea when you think about it. ** JW Veldhoen, Are mystics supposed to be ascetic? Anyway, my bro's not a mystic, he's just giving the mystical some of his muscle, I guess. I don't know. You should hear his laugh. Peels paint, his laugh. ** Killer Luka, No, I didn't know that about barnacles' penises. If you'd said they had the cutest asses, I probably would have gone, oh yeah. ** Tigersare, Hey, Guy. Damn, we're not hooking up here very well so far. I'm going to try to reach you today somehow and hope. Hope the gig went ultra-splendidly. The newsstand thing was nice, but it faded out around 9 pm. Oh, I just saw your later comment. Yeah, the newsstand thing peaked early for some reason. Damn, so that was our last opportunity? You're leaving tomorrow or something? Shit, damn my eyes, if so. ** Creative Massacre, Ouch, about the bleach and your stuff. I guess that must have killed your weekend's spirit. But maybe some fun interceded? I hope so. ** Little foal, Hi, my friend. Really glad the recon assisted meet/ adventure went so satisfyingly well. I would guess an emotional incompatibility would be the more common outcome, but I'd also guess your beautiful, smart, uncommon profile text has an interesting preemptive effect or something. It makes total sense to me about the change in the subject of your research project. It sounds like a deeper and more naturally riveting area for you. I think it's always a good idea to work within an area that has a personal and compulsive force. And the muse hunt idea works in that way too. So, yeah, great. And, man, not to be a broken record, but you just write like a dream. ** Oscar B, Hey. Oh, I'm okay, more awake than I was yesterday, more raring to go, I guess. The newsstand thing was nice. I took pix. You'll see them. Yury said Paris was supposed to start heating up this week? Glad you liked 'Showroom Dummies'. I kind of turned off the bright, fun lights in her work. Or she did that with my help. Kind of sad, in a way. Miss you, O. ** Math, Hey! Got it, no problem, and thanks much. Closing in on the new job and freer life, you mean? Say more when more should be said. Love to you, Math. ** _Black_Acrylic, Oh, ugh, I'm sorry to hear that, Ben. I mean, you never know why people don't respond -- and my bad emailing habits are the epitome of silence as nothing personal or meaningful -- but I guess it's a good idea to quell one's hopes since it both feels better and doesn't prevent the miraculous. ** Bollo, Hey, man. I'm real glad you liked the post stuff. I wish you could actually take the ride through Sturtevant's House of Horrors. It was totally giddy-making. That 'slutever' thing about 'Closer' is hilarious and cool. Wow, ha ha, that's great. Thanks for that alert, man. And your new drawings are amazing. I fucking love them. Hold on. Everyone, the artist Jonathan Mayhew who wonderfully hangs out here via the moniker Bollo has some new drawings up on his blog that are fantastic, and I nudge you firmly and enthusiasticaly to go see for yourself. They're here. Wonderful, wonderful work, sir. Thank you! ** Trees, Hey, Trees. Oh, sorry about your shit weekend. Cause and effect double whammy. Oh, good, so you'll be the one with the new computer in hand. I won't be able to miss you, ha ha. Really looking forward to meeting you, doing the meal thing with you, etc. ** Justin, The Czechlist thing is the opening credits from a late 90s Czech porn film from the company Man's Best called 'Maerchenknaben'. Glad you liked a bunch of the Varioso things. There's a more stuff on the Russian Satanic/ cannibal murders online if you feel like looking further. ** Chris, Hey, C. LA's pretty nice. Jet lag's departing. It's supposed to be 80 degrees here today, no less. Hope you get a ton of bites, obviously. Take care, pal. ** Misanthrope, Well, we'll just have to go make the porn in Romania or Bulgaria or somewhere. Maybe we can lure little George out of retirement. He's 'sorely' missed. I told you Kix would have something or other in store. Oh, I certainly will go see what's happened to your story. It's my calendar's new headline. Everyone, the legendary Misanthrope's soon to be legendary novel 'Autobiography of Mark Dennison' has a new twist and turn as of this past weekend, and logic has it that you simply must go here and discover why and wherefore. Tingting is the new God of the shoeless. ** Maximum Etc, Hey, Justin. No offense taken. Crazy eyes, he has. As I was telling JW, you ought to hear his laugh. Maybe I've even imitated it for you before. I've been known to spontaneously do that when there's a lull in conversation. I wonder if I'll ever come around on DeLillo. Probably, right? Awesome that you met Bruce Boone. He's great, a visionary and pioneer, that guy. I'll retry DeLillo if you'll retry 'Grievous Angel'. Dude, start with '1000 Dollar Wedding'. Just let that track sink in, and, if you get the sublimity out of it, the rest of the LP might fall into place. It's damn nice to see you, man. ** Okey-doke. Yeah, it's escorts day today, and, yeah, you know the drill. So, like I said, I'll post and say a howdy tomorrow, and then, after that, the blog will return live and talkative on my end as soon as Thursday rolls around. Maybe see a few of you tonight? Maybe see a few of you tomorrow night? In any case, take care, bye for now, and all the rest.
