Seriously, who here has singed onto Myspace in the last three months? Who here even remembered that they had a Myspace acct? I got a notice that I had a message on my Myspace so I singed in for the first time in months to see what it was. Turns out I had 71 notices and 33 messages. Oops. Well, luckily none of them were important. There were no cries for help or booty calls or anything good like that.
Anyway, were was I? Right. I want to thank everyone for their happy birthday wishes here and everywhere else. You guys are a pretty awesome group of people that I've come across here. I can't believe what a sad, empty life I had before blogs, Twitter, Facebook and Blog Talk Radio.
You guys all rock!

Also, you might recall that I said I was going to make an attempt to get some celebrities on Twitter to wish me happy birthday. And, I said I would let you know how it turned out. Well, I did just that but with only limited success. I tried to get the attention of a handful of celebs that I thought might be the most likely to respond. Here's how it worked out...
The Fail List:
Alyssa Milano: Okay, so I realize that Alyssa has like 800 billion followers, so finding my little birthday request in the middle of all the freaks and weirdoes is probably difficult. So, I'm not really gonna hold this against her, but she is a Dodgers fan, so she already had one strike against her. This is strike two. (I'm sure she will be very upset about this disturbing development.)
Lily Allen: I'm giving Lily a pass because I find her very entertaining. And she appears in naked or semi-naked in public often. That's something I like in a girl.
Eliza Dusku: Eliza gets her first strike. I know it seems unfair, but I've seen her wish others happy birthdays on twitter before, so it's not like she has a policy against it. Also, it's not like she was busy getting ready for the Oscars or anything. Hey-Ohhhhhhhhh!*
Keri Hilson: I have to say I was most disappointed in not getting a shout-out from Hilson. Keri is a pretty active twitterer and she interacts with her fans a lot. Even though she gets lots and lots of tweets directed at her, I think she should have seen mine and wished me a happy birthday. I initially gave Keri her first strike, but then remembered that she looks like this...
So, I rescinded that strike.
Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee: Totally disappointed that these two regular people didn't take the time out of their hanging out with the Washington and Hollywood elite to wish me a happy birthday. There is no excuse to be made for them. Especially Mike Huckabee who used to be my Governor! *shakes head in disgust*
Now the win list:
Ana Marie Cox: AMC is a media celebrity. She is a writer for GQ Magazine and a regular contributor to Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC. Or least I'm told she is. I wouldn't know because I never watch Rachel's show. Anyway, Ana is also a Twitter Star. She has thousands and thousands of followers and is well known for her interacting with her fans. So, I felt confident that I could get a response from her. And I did!
But wait! There's more! AMC is also well known for her awesome bed head pics that she shares with us on Twitter often. So, when I asked her for a happy birthday shout out, I also asked for a bed head pic. And? Oh yeah, I got one ...
Isn't she cute?
*Full disclosure, my good friend Doc got AMC to post a bed head pic last year. So, I was hoping I could one up him by getting both the happy b-day wish AND the bed head pic. When I did, I didn't hesitate to message Doc and let him know that he had been outdone. haha
Alessandra Torresani: I had notice that Alessandra, who plays Zoe Graystone on "Caprica" does interact with her fans on Twitter, and it's pretty obvious that it's really her tweeting, so I thought there was at least a decent chance with her too. And, again I was right...
How cool is that? Gratuitous sexy shot of Miss Terresani...
I think that as of right now, Alessandra is officially the favorite actress of Cynica_Bastard. She's very cute and very awesome. And, since she wished me a happy birthday, she and I are totally BFFs now. Right? I thought so.
Miley Cyrus: Okay, so I threw up a request for a happy birthday from Miley last night not expecting to hear anything. But, Monday morning there it was!
Now, I know a lot of people keep claiming that that isn't really Miley. Remember, she quit Twitter several months ago? Well, I don't know. I think I'm going to just go ahead and live in my own alternate reality world (kinda like the Tea Partiers) and believe that Miley Cyrus really does want to be my friend and really did wish me a happy birthday. Which means that Miley is now the favorite musician of Cynical_Bastard.
Also, I was going to ask Adrianne Curry for a shout out, but she tweeted that her phone had been stolen. So, it seemed a little selfish of me at the time. Instead I just tried to be supportive and console her while eagerly awaiting the release of the nude pics of her that are undoubtedly on that phone.
So, I guess the attempts at birthday wishes from celebs on Twitter can be classified as a success. I think the fact that it was a Sunday and the Academy Awards were going on probably made it a little more difficult that it already was to get their attention. So, maybe I'll try again next year and get better results.
