Shanghai's World Expo 2010 with 189 countries taking part in the massive six-month showcase of ideas and technology it is the latest display of China’s growing global clout. Shanghai reportedly spent at least $44 billion to put on the massive expo, even more than was spent on the similarly spectacular 2008 Beijing Olympics.
