p.s. Hey. First, to all locals, readers, and lurkers internationally, don't forget that your bedtime tonight is the deadline for your Self-Portrait Day entries. Those who haven't sent their entries in yet, please take a little time today to put something together and send it to me, okay? The SPD remains undernourished, and it needs you. Thanks. Secondly, to all LA-based locals, readers, and lurkers, remember that we're holding a get together tomorrow evening at Sherwood Magazines. All the info you need is in the blog's right hand column. I hope to see you guys there. Otherwise, I'm still doing the time and body clock adjustment thing, and I hope to be in the clear by the time I see you next on Monday. ** Mark, Hey there. Good to see you, pal. Woody Woodman ... sounds vaguely familiar. I'll google. You'll be there Monday? Wait, aren't you in SF? Maybe I'm confused. Anyway, the SF reading is on Tuesday, if I'm not. Yeah, it's cool with me and kind of you if you want to tape the reading. I'd guess it's okay with Jim and Mark too. Anyway, see you soon, man, one place or another. ** Stan_cz, Flight was bearable, yeah. That's a good term for it. I'm cool, just trying to work my way through my always ugh jet lag as quickly as possible and digging the warm blue ceiling. ** Tonyoneill, Hey, Tony. Glad you liked Tomas' post, natch. Good weekend, man. ** David Ehrenstein, 'Bluebeard' ... is that a film? I don't know about it, but I'm certainly curious, it being Breillat. Ha ha, well, you can have the 'single' man, and I'll take the 'serious' one. ** Kier, I've got it on videotape here in LA, but I don't think I'll risk carting it to France since, while it's not an illegal porn at all, it's creepy enough that I wouldn't want to get cornered at the border with it. If the naughtybids site (a kind of porn eBay) still exists, they used to sell it on there once in a while. That's where I got it. ** Puella aeterna, Hey. Sorry to hear you were under the weather, but welcome back to clarity and, well, to here too. Oh, weird about the missing Young pages. I think you might have sent them to me, yes? If so, I'll go add them to the post this weekend. Let me ... Everyone, if you remember the second post I did here on the work of Elizabeth Young, well, there were two pages missing from the short story in that post. I plan to fix that this weekend if you want to revisit it starting next week. Or Puella Aeterna has kindly offered to email the missing pages or the entirety to anyone who likes. Reach her at cjsxfb@gmail.com. Sure, a phone call interview thing for Ponystep is fine, and evenings or Wednesday should be cool. I'll be back in Paris on the 28th and then there until the 10th or 12th of April. Do let me know when POKE is in the stores, and I'll go find the Facebook page too. Thanks for everything. ** Statictick, Glad you liked it/them, sir. ** Jesse Hudson, Howdy. I think Misanthrope nailed it: the comments usually thin out at first when the posting schedule changes, and porn tends to render some people speechless. Yeah, definitely go see the doctor, okay? Promise me. Definitely best to know what's up and get it solved asap. Talk to you later, J. ** Creative Massacre, Oh, exciting about your project. I'm on the edge of my seat. Literally, in fact, ha ha. You feeling better today, I hope? Have a really swell weekend if you possibly can. ** JW Veldhoen, It is hard to believe there was ever a time when didn't know you, man. Well, hm, I don't think the hooker idea is so bad, but the casting call via ad route might be pretty interesting and art-like in and of itself, I guess. Me, I'm not sure Koons and Figgis are the last word on this sort of thing. ** Sypha, Oh, ha ha, I'm not worried, man, but thank you. ** Bill, Cold and rainy would feel like home, worst comes to worst. Nice Gilbert & George tale, and I'm strangely attracted to that turnip juice theoretically. Good weekend to ya. ** Misanthrope, Murder spree, huh? Hm, hadn't thought of that. Let me see what I can do. Oh, there must be some way to get into the KIX spirit. There's the whole incredibly depressing thing. There's the whole 'thank God I'm not heterosexual' thing. ** Justin, Mm, I don't know if Bound Gods is owned by that company. I've barely glanced at the BG stuff. Their stuff is too faux-stylishly lit for me. A hi from you is worth a wad of cash from most people, man. Oh, was the last SPD done around the time of an LA trip? Maybe, yeah. What was it ... oh, the Halloween SPD. Wow, it's been a while. Anyway, hang in there, Justin, and see you Monday. ** Alyssa Nolan, I tried skiing once sort of, and it was not my body's thing. I think I have weak ankles or something. It was the same with ice skating. Sledding, now that's okay. I'd go for that too, although I think snowman building would probably win. I like porn, as you know, but for offbeat reasons, I guess. Watching porn's usually like watching a melancholy documentary to me, a documentary about sex as a failed utopia or something, I don't know. The LA trip is off to a sleepy start, but the best things often start that way, don't they? There's some melancholy utopian thinking for you. ** Blendin, Hey, B. Yeah, I'll give a phone buzz today about tomorrow. I don't think there's much needed to do, but, yeah, we'll talk. It'll be a hootenanny, man. ** Oscar B, Thanks, pal. I hope you like the early Gisele piece tonight. You can see how suave and light on its toes her work was before I came in and wrecked it with my Cooperian shit. Or something. ** Bollo, Food was pretty gross. Generally, the non-vegetarian everyman meals are ... well, they look and smell very slightly less bad. Air France food is on average better than a lot of other airlines' stuff. Or perhaps the free champagne slightly weakens the critical faculties. Very nice that you liked the Gluth novel. Thanks, of course. You work this weekend, or are you free to work on your real work? ** Chris (British), Hey. Some of the Eastern European porn still tries to do weird, imaginative things. Or the gay stuff does sometimes. It can be really wacky, but it's always kind of grim too, and you have to get into that wrong seeming quality. But you don't get the weird joyful thing you get with vintage porn. ** Alan, Hey, Alan. ** _Black_Acrylic, Oh, that's unfortunate. Well, maybe Facebook is a decent way to move forward for a while, if you have to. Like an old fashioned mostly language-based courtship or something? It used to work, and I bet it still does. Have a fine weekend, Ben. ** Chris Stamm, Hey, Chris. Thanks for the visit and the props to Tomas. ** Okay, that was kind of quiet. Um, the post this weekend is the first potpourri style Varioso I've done in ages for some reason. See if anything on display rewards you. Hope so. SPDs, please? I'll see you LA guys tomorrow evening maybe? It's the weekend, and I'll run with it, if you promise to. Etc. Bye. See you on Monday.
