She has been represented in America exclusively by Matthew Marks Gallery since 1992 and Yvon Lambert Gallery in Paris, the city where he currently lives. In 2003, The New York Times nodded to the work's impact, explaining Goldin had "forged a genre, with photography as influential as any in the last twenty years."

The American writer Stephen Rodefer, who lives in Paris, is the author of many volumes of poetry, prose, plays and translation. His work extends the tradition of the Black Mountain and New York schools of American poetry. Mark Tompkins is an American dancer, choreographer and teacher who has been living in France since 1973. After a series of solos and group collaborations, he founded the company I.D.A., International Dreems Associated, in 1983. Payne is the author of four novels: Rooftop Soliloquy (2009), Hope & Despair (2008), Cities & Countries (2006), and Crepuscule (2004). Rhys Chatham (born September 19, 1952, New York City) is an American composer, guitarist, and trumpet player, primarily active in avant-garde and minimalist music. He is best known for his "guitar orchestra" compositions. His compositional concern has been to bring together seemingly incompatible elements and put them through a personal filter so as to vertically align them. During much of his career, he has devoted himself to combining the pounding, throbbing rhythms of rock with the aesthetic concerns of post-minimalism. He has lived in France since 1987.

Alice Notley (born 8 November 1945) is an American poet. She was born in Bisbee, Arizona and grew up in Needles, California. She married poet Ted Berrigan in 1972, with whom she was active in the Chicago poetry scene and with whom she had two sons. In the early 70s she became rooted in New York's Lower East Side, where she was an important force from 1976 through 1992. After Berrigan died in 1983, Notley raised their two sons in New York's East Village by herself for several years while continuing to develop her poetry. She lives in Paris currently, making several trips to the United States each year to give readings and teach writing classes.
